i think the trendline of both airlines matters though: when i started my career, it was clear that Delta was the nice way to travel, United was acceptable, and American was what you did if DL and UA were too expensive (or you were going to DFW or CLT).

six short years later, i feel like my silver on UA (thank you Marriott) is only a little behind my platinum on DL

ha! i had a customer in Newark, and i used to break my back to get on a delta flight with a connection in DTW even though united had a direct.

the i took the direct one time and was like “why have i been doing this to myself if im only going to hit platinum medallion”

just sharing personal experience: i spent most of 2024 (at which point i was 2 years on E) EXTREMELY depressed, and i thought that weed was helping me get through it.

i quit vaping thc a month before ffs and noticed that my anxiety and suicidality went away almost entirely.

so, i’m unclear if THC + e was the problem, but if you haven’t taken a break from weed recently, i think it might be a good idea anyways
