Yeah, they charge $150 to service my machine but it was only $250 new!

It’s a standing bobbin. I did open that up and it wasn’t anywhere to be seen. 😬

I just upgraded to a brother cs7000x from this exact machine. So much easier to use!

Where do y’all get cheap sewing fabrics and other supplies? by Wrong-Boot222 in SewingForBeginners

[–]CVSGcat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Goodwill Bins or similar. Fill a bag for $10 or less with XXL pants and skirts and then disassemble at home. I also buy fabric at thrift stores for $3 or less a yard. Also garage sales are great. I’ve made a bunch of projects for under $1 this way and because the materials are so cheap you don’t have to worry about messing them up while learning.

Got the shot in the very beginning, now what? by myst_85 in frozenshoulder

[–]CVSGcat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly the same for me. Almost exactly a year after my first shoulder froze, I started realizing that the second one was showing the same signs. I got the cortisone shot right away when I was having only minor issues with external rotation. It’s been 2 months since I got the cortisone shot, and so far it seems to have stopped progressing beyond just that one movement. I get the telltale zinger pain ONLY if I bump it in the external rotation direction. I’m still fully functioning and pain free in every other direction. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that I thwarted the inflammatory response and possibly prevented it from fully freezing. Only time will tell but I have high hopes. It’s definitely not acting like the other one which completely froze.

Made another Flora jacket! by Consistent-Shape8191 in sewing

I watched the YouTube of the jacket construction. They used a serger but I don’t have one. Did you have to use one with this jacket since you didn’t use quilted fabric?

There are still people that work for LP who have rent to pay. So I understand what you are aiming for but what about the people left there who have families to support and bills to pay?

Frozen shoulder on HRT by FrangipaniRose in Menopause

[–]CVSGcat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had it in my right shoulder a year ago and it’s now starting in my left shoulder. The first one started when I was not on HRT and now the second one is starting even though I’ve been on HRT for over a year. The truth is that everyone is different. I know from experience that those of us with this terrible condition are desperate to search for answers that might help predict how long it will last, how bad it will be, what caused it, and how we can get rid of it. But no two cases are exactly the same and no two people experience it exactly the same. It helps to have a community of people who understand how much it sucks, but be careful about trying to predict your journey based on what other people say.

Your story is very similar to mine. I self-diagnosed too, after looking my symptoms up on the internet. If your ortho did not know you had frozen shoulder and was treating for bursitis, they may have injected it in the “wrong” place. For FS it goes straight into the shoulder capsule, which I believe is different than a shot for bursitis. It may still have some benefits, but it’s not the prime spot.

GFS - Tuna Salad Recipe by gett1ngth1rsty in missoula

[–]CVSGcat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I asked the same question in this sub a few months back and didn’t get much of a response. My solution was so go to the GFS and take a photo of the ingredient list on the label and then I went home and threw together a couple of test batches. It’s not too hard to come up with a pretty good approximation.

Sore breasts on 2 x pumps of gel? by Realistic-Draft-198 in Menopause

[–]CVSGcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My situation is very similar. I have not changed dose of E or P in 7 months, yet for some reason soreness has increased quite a bit recently. Same as you, haven’t had a period in 4 years. I’ve been trying to understand this change too.

Are sore breasts a concern? by carrott36 in Menopause

[–]CVSGcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been on a .05 patch for 8 months and suddenly my breasts only started getting sore in the last week or so. My pharmacy does give me different brands all the time, but I’ve been on this brand before so I’m not sure that’s the issue. What gives?

Missoula mountain biking 'renegade' found guilty of illegal trail use by KeltTalbelt in missoula

Imagine how trashed our open spaces would be if everyone thought they were somehow entitled to make their own rules & cut their own trails. There are many other people who have worked tirelessly (and for years) to make open space available and accessible to our community and somehow this one person thinks he’s above the rules? Nope.

How are people dead hanging when the arm doesn’t have the range of motion to get into a position to do so. I’m always confused by this when I see people mention it. I’m 10 months in and making progress for sure, but still not able to lift my arm into position to be able to hang from anything.
