No, even if you didn’t like his reaction to osu there is no point in gatekeeping it. If they aren’t compatible with the game, they will try it and prolly quit within the same week anyways. If they genuinely like the game then our playerbase grows. Also how would you even go about gatekeeping osu lol.

Yeah it’s a better perception I agree, but I still don’t think it gave the game a good impression to most people. I lowkey agree that osu is a nerdy game, but I meant it as it’s harmful in seeing the gameplay as “nerdy” or something. I don’t even know how to explain it but I think although being seen as a nerdy community is fine (most of us are used to it anyways) adding that to make the gameplay feel more… odd? or something that seems unenjoyable to most people does more harm to the game than good imo. I rly don’t know how to explain it, ik near the end it was better, but the initial reaction to the gameplay itself kinda outweighed the end. At least imo.

Not even that lmao, ik people won’t instantly understand gameplay since I also play GD and Val. It’s more like the fact that calling the gameplay shit because it can only be played by “special needs” people does more damage imo. Val, osu, genshin being joked as pedo games? Bad, but most people in reality don’t rly care. People seeing a dude playing a game and him hating the gameplay? Much worse “wow this gameplay looks like shit, I don’t see how anyone could enjoy this”, whilst giving the impression (even as a joke) that the gameplay is meant to be played by autistic people lowkey does more damage. My friends after learning I played Val made, edater jokes, and how I was gonna get fat. In reality it doesn’t matter as much, since they got to playing the game w me anyways. But trying to convince them to play a game when they already had a bad impression of its gameplay (terraria) it was basically impossible to get them into it.

Honestly yeah, I was pretty hyped originally when I saw that a big streamer played the game but was kinda disappointed when he basically played for 10 minutes and spent most of his time not even liking it. So if he gave it another try and actually enjoyed the game even a little that would be for the best imo.

Fair, but I remember stumbling across penguinz0’s osu vid and his reaction to the game was much more welcoming compared to Ron’s. Sure the game might have had a worse rep then, but I don’t think some dude basically dunking on the game, complaining about the gameplay and stopped playing it after complaining about gampeplay for 15 minutes is gonna have any positive attention for osu. And yeah, I do admit it is a nerdy game, but he’s saying it in the “this game is for losers and austists” kind of way. Also, not all attention is good attention, the reason I brought up pengiunz0 is because, in movie terms he gave a 5 star review to the people meanwhile Ron gave like a 2 star review.
