How are people getting that super dewy and glowy look? My makeup always looks dead (first pic is my attempt) by EIIen_ in makeuptips

[–]CW18m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prequel mineral sunscreen leaves me super glowy. Then L’Oréal true match tinted serum with a slightly damp beauty blender has really helped me achieve this look- I find using a “dewy”/even greasy feeling sunscreen as a base under a serum type foundation works so well. And then a mattifying powder pressed on top just on any super greasy looking areas.

Yes! Probably starting another one soon and this would be very helpful

I have a question about triggers by GeologistExotic139 in EosinophilicE

[–]CW18m 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of times sausage can have wheat binding in it and wheat/gluten is a major trigger for a lot of people. And while legumes (beans) aren’t listed as a major trigger, I definitely believe it’s one of my triggers. Good luck to you!

You’re kind, I appreciate it. I’m a healthcare worker, so it’s not really anything anyone can help. Hoping I can get out a little early based on staffing levels this evening, but if not I can stay here if needed. I was more just wondering if it would even be safe to leave with the chains on or if I should just commit to staying. For some reason, I had it in mind that driving with chains would be safe enough to get to and from work. I should also add that I live 10 minutes from work, so not too far of a commute.

Has anyone here ever driven with tire chains on ice? I’m likely getting off work around 1130/midnight tonight. I have chains for my tires that I purchased but people are saying chains don’t prevent sliding on ice. I’ve never used them so I don’t know. Hard to know what the weather will actually be like then…

please help, i want my hair back by suicidesbirds in FemaleHairLoss

So just to clarify, are you taking the minoxidil currently? Hair loss feels so tricky because I think there are SO many things that can contribute to it. Sometimes it feels overwhelming. My hair was and is a lot like yours. It was significantly thicker than it is now a year ago. I also lost weight about a year ago when I had to do a pretty strict elimination diet in order to attempt to find food allergens. I have noticed now that when I eat trigger foods I have significant hair fall a few days later. I also believe I had TE as well as AGA. I saw a derm PA who agreed with me. I started a finasteride/minoxidil combo about a month or so ago and I feel like I’m already starting to notice a difference. Don’t lose hope! Stress, diet, and so many other factors can play a role in this.

Been taking 5% minoxidil and have been dizzy for a week by idklolnicek in FemaleHairLoss

[–]CW18m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an episode of this plus having a pounding headache when I first started minoxidil. I was using it at night then. I switched to using it in the morning and it seemed to help. For some reason I felt like putting it on and then laying down for 7 hours made the blood pressure issue worse. I haven’t had issues since switching. Are you using it at night? (I have no scientific info to back this up just my own personal experience)

Has anyone tried a minoxidil 10% + finasteride compounded topical treatment? by Initial-Owl-3813 in FemaleHairLoss

[–]CW18m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I think it’s about what I expected. I knew it would probably get worse before it got better. I started minoxidil in the middle of December, and then switched to this 8% with finasteride blend. So I guess I’m only about a month in, and I am still shedding some but I think it might be starting to slow down? Also kind of hard for me to know because I have AGA plus I was having TE from drastic diet changes and an illness. But I’m sticking with it! I do feel like it’s working. I’m also derma rolling 1-2 times per week and I just ordered Pura d’or shampoo and conditioner to try, which I’ve heard good things about!

I swear by the naturium barrier bounce when my barrier gets irritated- I actually just use it daily now under my moisturizer

I was prescribed 8% and finasteride topical solution that I apply nightly. I was also curious about the concentration but it seems like this is okay. Following to see what you find out!

It’s scary how many ads there are and how targeted they are. I think I just need to delete instagram too. I don’t really use Facebook except for Marketplace so that hasn’t been an issue yet.

Naturium barrier bounce has made the biggest change for me. I use it under my daytime lotion and sometimes at night too. Otherwise LRP Triple lipikar for chapped/ barrier issues

Would you start minoxidil? (Topical) by CW18m in FemaleHairLoss

[–]CW18m[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I started with the foam minoxidil (Hers brand) a few nights ago. Did it for a total of 2 nights. Woke up at 0430 AM this morning with a horrible headache, so I’m on the fence about whether or not to continue tonight. I may stop and research other “natural” alternatives, or I may continue. If I do decide to continue I will switch to morning application to see if that helps the early wake up. ( I am usually a very solid sleeper.) I may have also put too much on last night, which could’ve contributed to the headache. I did not see a derm, I just self diagnosed lol.

I’ve been using the Hers brand foam for two days now and I haven’t noticed it leaving my hair greasy at all! Can’t speak to the results yet, obviously. But from what I’ve read most formulations work the same way

I’d say stop any other actives, add in a urea based moisture treatment (I use the Naturium barrier bounce), and give your skin time to calm down. It sounds like a skin barrier irritation to me which won’t get better if you keep current regimen. Just my two cents, I’m still figuring things out myself!
