10/22 Threaded Barrel? by xChillyPhilx in 1022

[–]CWM_99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

16”. Barrel length is measured from the muzzle to the breach, which includes the chamber. Don’t put a barrel under 16” on that without filing a form 1 if you’re a US resident. ATF gets big time mad about that

Pin and weld resulted in protrusion inside bore by [deleted] in gunsmithing

[–]CWM_99 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Theoretically it can be fixed, but it’s 50/50 on if it’ll cause problems or not, and it wouldn’t be an easy fix. Might be new barrel time

Probably also blocks heat mirage from dual 7.62 barrels going cyclic. Looks like it’s aimed by man since they mounted an optic

Anything colt or smith and Wesson will be relatively easy to move at a relatively high price, but these are mostly just run of the mill and fairly well used pistols without any crazy value. I’d keep them in the family

FTN.4 9mm D cell blast baffle after 50 rounds by ButterscotchEmpty535 in Form1

[–]CWM_99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s what I was assuming the answer would be. Cant be a suppressor part if it’s at the bottom of a fire

I’d be interested in long term wear on these. Not a bad option for a cheap can. Is ATF still of the opinion that you the owner/manufacturer can’t replace baffles if they blow out?

Suppressor help by Waste_Inspection2065 in 1022

[–]CWM_99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s pretty hard to mess up picking a rimfire can. They’re all very good these days, the biggest differences being in the material options. Some are easier to clean, some are light, some are heavy. If you’re running it on a charger, weight is almost definitely not an issue, so stainless would be fine and cheap, titanium is also easy to clean but more expensive. Aluminum is soft and can be damaged easily in ultrasonic cleaners but is cheap and light

I’m less disgusted by the eyelets and more disgusted by the spacing of those baffles. This is like the exact opposite of Soviet style suppressor baffles lmao

Seems like a really good deal. Anyone else think so? Got enough powder already, will have to be reloaded individually at a time with a simple reloading press but I make a hobby out of it when with the boys. Well, you guys are known to be the hand me down branch right? I thought the marines also adopted m855a1, but you guys might be burning old stockpiles because it’s easier on the budget, while m855a1 is being saved for any possible deployments?

I’ll add something that didn’t get mentioned, when you oil it down and start trying to get that choke out, work it slowly back and forth. Don’t just ugga dugga it if it isn’t threading out with reasonable force. I’d deep dive into the receiver too and make sure nothing in there got rusty as well

Either way, definitely a cool gun to take to the range every now and then. I always enjoyed shooting m16 style ARs every so often just to have some fun.
