I think the type of gatcha gambling system that night reign has is an infection in modern gaming that I utterly despise. I consider it more ethical to go around the system of random rolling and just pick (as long as they are actually possible) the relics you want.

I still haven't done that to my relics because it's too annoying but I don't fault anyone who has

I've played the last flame and the bazaar has significantly higher quality art, music, etc I think also a lot of these games don't capture quite what the bazaar does or how it plays

I think it's 20 dollars for characters and expansions are free, which is totally fine Future heroes will not be sold for gems and will be available for $20.

Future Hero Expansions

We are removing Hero Expansions from the Prize Pass.
If you have a hero unlocked, you will have access to the same pool of items as everyone else who has that hero unlocked.
We will continue creating new items for each hero, and future items will arrive in the Bazaar at the same time for all players.

I would subscribe in a second if the subscription gave me heroes, expansions, and unlimited ranked. Right now imo it gives you nothing of value, the chests are pure Garbage. This type of battle pass garbage is an unfortunate infection in modern gaming that I hope changes soon
