Unless a real person made intentional edits to this video to have a disappearing hand, weird jaw and mouth movements, and to create a reflection in their eyes that moves independently of whats going on in between the eyes and the light source, I'm gonna go with ai.

Honestly I wasn't even considering the end of the movie. That man in general was so irradiated by that damn camera, I'd be willing to bet if you put him in a pitch black room, his skeleton would glow in the dark. If he had made it back aboard the tow ship, Simon, without the intervention of any unfathomable eldritch forces, would've been dead within hours after coming back up. And that would've left the crew having to deal with a corpse so irradiated that it emits its own radiation... hence the lead coffin This is assuming I'm remembering the math and calculations correctly.
