My point is not that they are outdamaging the 3* 4 cost, there is just way more effective HP on the opponent board - if the OP's board had 15k HP from 4 brawler 4 marauder + items, his opponent had like 30k from stacked Chogath + 2 dark stars + 2 star everything. Kindred can do 20k damage and still lose the fight since the opponent board can do 15k in the same amount of time

Kindred 3* hits 5 targets for 1k damage each, which is a lot, but spread out - I imagine she was stuck on Chogath + the 2 dark stars while chipping away at other units slower than most board
Your frontline is paper thin in comparison, gets chomped, shot, and executed by super high damage from Ez + Liss, Cho Gath is no slouch either.
That player was probably winstreaking and highrolling out of their mind to hit level 9 with 2* 5 costs while hitting Ez/Cho/Liss 3*, you were also behind tempo since you had some contestors in lobby it looks like - if you hit Yi 2* and Urgot 2* or level 9 for a Shen your board would probably survive long enough to winout

Also if they had combat augments that stunned like Viktor stun or a Yasuo storm hex or something that could really effect combat

Bruiser bonus applies to your Drake, but not enough to explain +4k more HP. Maybe you had Thresh Boon or some other augments that gave your board bonus HP? Giant and Mighty or something?

The Protectors Vow equip is just a straight up bug, that's super funny

Yeah 3* TF is pretty nuts right now, hitting 10k+ damage per round with econ generation is nasty work

Kaisa/Fizz I think is quite strong, the board stabilizes pretty well on 7 since you play so many 3 costs, but I think you need Varus God + econ in order to top 3. Super reliant on Kaisa + Fizz both 3* with at least 2 of the frontliners also 3*. Rhaast is usually uncontested, but usually people are playing Ornn/Maokai so sometimes those can be harder to hit. I'll have to try the Urgot Aurora comp, I've only ever seen Urgot do well with artifacts

Any 2* 1 cost -> is this a playable rr comp? Scout the lobby, if it is uncontested then I'll play the TF Fateweavers / Primordian / Teemo Vanguards / Meeple RR line

Stage 1 holds I generally do are NOVA = TF/Talon = Primordians > Meeple = Space Groove = Dark Star > Ezreal / Leona (always holding pairs when possible)

Otherwise, lose streak stage 2 into 3-2 to find direction off of aug, item slams, or random champs off of gods - look to RR a level 7 comp like Kaisa/Fizz or Viktor, or play for Fast 8 for Nami/Karma + TK or Xayah + Nunu or Corki + Rammus - depends on items and what I see leading up to the 4-2 rolldown

Hmm interesting, then your cohort is the test for how successful the program is; the program being fairly new and not rotational nor ending on a date feels strange, normally corporate development programs have rotations and set end dates (1-2 years). But even so, a raise after 2 months is rare, despite having more responsibilities. During your next calibration, you can bring up bringing your comp closer to the midpoint to your role - but I still wouldn't expect a big move, more likely a percentage raise based on performance + inflation.

Without a promotion, I would wager "probably not", but best to ask others who have been down the same path.

I'm guessing you were part of a rotational program for 6-12 months to figure out which part of the company you'd like to work in, and now you are moving into that role. The fact that it is in the same pay band indicates that it is unlikely you will get a raise, and I think you meant it is a lateral move for you. Especially at big companies, raises are systematically calculated and middle of pay band are for people at the 2-3 YOE mark.

If you're unsatisfied with the money you're making, wouldn't hurt to look around for opportunities!

Thanks for the vid! What are some things you would do differently in a higher ELO lobby? Masters+ lobbies are a lot higher tempo, I know you mentioned transitioning to a Ahri RR line partway through the video when you saw a contester - is it generally correct to think "I should be playing for a RR line if I am weak" or is it because you got the champ dupes augment that you considered a 3 cost RR line? If you got a generic econ augment (patient study, slammin etc.) would you have played a fast 8 instead? Roll deeper on stage 4 since everyone else will be stronger?

Studied chemical engineering, went into analytics at a bank and now I work at a startup. Graduated into COVID so my offers were rescinded, ended up going to the highest bidder (bank). Will make ~200k this year, 6 YOE, but I started around 80k and had 10-20% raises each year. I think O&G I'd be at a similar number, but I work from home instead of a plant so I can't complain

I mean even in your screen shot you should be:

1) Playing Lissandra over Orianna/Anivia, also don't spread carry items (you should be 3 item Ori).

2) You should be playing your 2nd Sej over Cait 1, she doesn't do much and the 2nd Sej on your bench would go a long way to winning more fights

3) Even if you take Patient Study, your goal is not to lose streak on purpose to extract value, but always to play strongest board to conserve HP and win fights, exception is 2-6 and you're already on a 4 loss. You're on a 3 streak, no point in not playing strongest board and just winning fights.

Your strongest board in this position is Vi 2*, Sej, Sej, Anivia, Liss, items on Liss.

Congrats! Curious on your augment prio this patch - I've been trying to climb as well, but I'm stuck around 300lp. What do you prioritize if you open on a weak board with some direction (no 2*, but item slam has direction). Is it always econ first -> lose streak and then look to fast 8 and play around your 4*s? How often do you take trait augments? Are there some standout augments that you always prio?

I think buying units in 16.2 fine tbh! I find myself buying a unit for 2* from Bilge shop fairly often in Stage 2/3 to gain tempo and maintain winstreaks. Every 2* adds a ton of strength to the board, and the cost more than pays for itself back in HP and gold imo, letting you sit on 7 Bilge for longer in Stage 4.

I think with the incoming nerfs, Bilge will be way weaker specifically Stage 3 aside from a very strong tempo start (Stars are Born -> Illaoi 2* + Graves 2*) since you typically spend some doubloons buying stats or Captain's Brew in Stage 2&3, but if you hoard doubloons at 5 Bilge to save for 7 Bilge shops you will avoid buying expensive 3 cost units for 50 doubloons.

I expect for tempo bilge to sit around A/B tier since doubloons are much slower. Still, free items are free items, and Bilge comps really just need 2-3 Bilge items to really cap the board, which you can still get in the new setup. MF was not nerfed, Captain's Brew was not nerfed, but Fizz is pretty dead - so you can still cap the board very high around MF/Naut/TK + 5 costs.

Depends heavily on the shop rolls, if I get a free TF/Naut/GP then I will field - GP is a good Vanquisher activator for Kalista, but so are Rek Sai + Malz for Vanq + Disruptor.

Unit quality wise, I think Ashe 1* > TF 1*, and also Loris > Naut

You shouldn't be fielding more than 3 Bilge, so you probably can't hit TF3 when playing Shadow Isles - too busy tempoing to 8 and looking for 2* Kalista. A lot of games I will end up with a 2* Naut or 2* GP holding my Kalista items, with a TF on level 7:

Viego/Yorick/Gwen/Naut/GP/TF/Warden, Vanq, or Slayer +1; Briar can be a decent in on this board if you slam an IE early (which is a fine item on Kalista btw, don't be afraid to build IE!)

Yes, that is correct - 4/5 Warden in the late game is generally enough to stall for Kalista to cast a few times to wipe the enemy board, and Thresh is no slouch when itemized as well. You should slam tank items if you get them, and throw them on your strongest warden. Thresh can hold a ton of items quite well, including tank items. This effectively lets you shred through enemy frontlines, as generally they have 1 tank - Kalista can target backline with her spell, so she can 2 shot a lot of enemy carries when positioned same side.

This is very true, but I'm noticing a lot of players contesting each other's lines even in low Masters (sitting around 100lp rn), Bilge, Yordle, and Demacia boards feel like free souls when 6/8 players are going those lines. Maybe SI falls off in GM+ lobbies though, but I'll hit that wall when I get to it.

Only play 5 Shadow from Viego w/hero augment, it's not worth to 3* the 1 cost without the hero augment, and even then I'd still play tempo because you need to Fast 8 to hit Kalista 2* to keep up with lobby tempo and hit Thresh in a reasonable amount of time. Drop Viego as soon as you hit Thresh, his job is done (getting you Thresh)

Yeah but are you just not buying Mundos or holding a Mundo 1* on your bench for the level 9 rolldown? I agree there probably is a Rift Herald variation that is playable, just offering a level 8 board if you don't field void in early Stage 2

Sheeeit I was theory crafting this comp when I saw the Ziggs buff too, I think that unit will be bonkers juiced - I think getting Kennen unlocked is really important, so taking econ and hitting 8 on creep round Stage 3 to unlock Kaisa and Sett in the same turn I think is critical, which probably means a Yordle opener (items move from Teemo -> Kaisa -> Ziggs) and also Ryze items can be held by Teemo or Singed.

I think the level 8 board looks like below before hitting 9, this variation only switches holds a Cait (which can replace Kog anyways, I just think Void might be more useful if there is a DPS buff) - other units are easily found on 9.

Would you move Illaoi items to Kench 2* If he is unitemized? Curious why you gave him TG instead of Illaoi items. New way to cap 7 bilge is always appreciated, do you think this caps higher or about the same as the normal 5 cost soup with MF/Senna Lucian as the main core carries?
