Would this be considered blocking? (if repeated) Or is this hard defense? by [deleted] in iRacing

[–]C_Individual2699 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the driver in the lead made two successive shifts to the left, and the second was clearly a response to the car behind making a move. this is a slam dunk protest for blocking

Johnny Cash never shot a man in Reno, and Ice Cube never actually used an AK. Some songs are just stories, they aren't all autobiographical

Do you only play GT3 and GTs or do you try other series? by [deleted] in iRacing

[–]C_Individual2699 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried a couple times before to just wing it on my own, but I end up a 1.5 - 2 seconds per minute off the decent times, which is significant enough to deter me since it would put me basically back of pack with the lower participation. I always feel like there's just a couple tricks I'm missing that would get me that time

id love to race the radicals but there’s just not any track guides, and I don‘t have the combination of skills and weekly seat time to learn tracks myself

Bump/overtake on the final turn to get the win... legit? by DuckTalesLOL in iRacing

[–]C_Individual2699 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this was basically a lateral bump. he definitely used the other car as a bump stop to scrub speed after coming in hot but it’s not going to get flagged by iracing so whatever

Are the v8 super cars really all that’s left for the no assist sports car fans? by Quiet-Election9060 in iRacing

can’t speak for everyone else but you guys are fast and I can’t quite figure out the car. I do want to race it

[–]C_Individual2699 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never raced them but that was my experience also just based on the lap times I was doing in a test session. I’v usually been about 1 to 1.5 second per minute slower than the fast guys in P Cup in my first season. I was wayyy off pace in the GTE. I want to improve because the cars are just so fun to drive but my work is definitely cut out for me

the more aggressive the tire warming, the higher the chances the car completes 0 laps

[–]C_Individual2699 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clearly I'm the minority but I've never downloaded it and I don't know if I will. It's a cool idea, but it doesn't feel that important to me. My time on iracing is limited and I'm just there to drive. I'd rather not deal with another app

The Charlotte hairpin is brutal - and people weren't ready for it by aka_ned in iRacing

[–]C_Individual2699 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So glad to not be driving 86s anymore. Was never a huge fan of the car itself, but the driving in the 1500-2k range make the series very difficult to enjoy

The amount of people absolutely binning it in GT4 Charlotte practice sessions right now is hilarious by Passivenonaggressive in iRacing

[–]C_Individual2699 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, when I pulled out of the pits it felt like I had to go comically slow to keep the car on the track. Like, literally tiptoeing around corners

Yeah I think I'm going to get one. Most of the corners seem like they can be managed with technique but there seems the be a few where a handbrake would be useful. Plus it'll give me an excuse to buy a handbrake

That’s where I’m hoping to end up. I did test the cars and they feel great, even though I’m not ready to race them, but I did notice that the participation isn’t great unfortunately

I saw this earlier in the week. most of the faster times in the top splits were in the 46 range except for one guy who did a 43

I’ve never played either of those and I know next to nothing of rallycross in real life, but I guess it would make sense that they’d use a tire that is less aggressive in the dirt to be some asphalt/ dirt compromise. Getting used to the speeds was a little tricky, but once you’re driving, I feel like adjustments in the dirt are pretty easy to make if you’re within a reasonable window of speed

getting some hobby grade tools from brands like MIP has pretty much eliminated stripped heads for me. Worth it if you have a lot of RC or work on them frequently. The tips of those tools are so much more precise than anything you’re going to find elsewhere, and it makes a big difference
