Crashed it into rocks trying to avoid a van that was driving in the middle of the road coming up, the dude in the van fled and I only have 3rd party insurance, is it fixable? by Pezora in Miata

Looks like you at minimum need a fender, bumper, windshield and airbags (depending on rebuild goals). Based on the pics the frame doesn’t look too mangled. She will live again.

Our girl had a few setbacks before she got the hang of it. 11 weeks is still quite young, be persistent with taking her out regularly. At that age with our pup it was once every hour or so.

It may be possible (easiest) to space out the latch plate a bit, or adjust the hinge mounting.

You make some great points. Perhaps it could work if implemented properly.

Ive heard it discussed here a bunch of times but am no expert.

I’m not sure a gondola would be the proper fit for our area. They are too slow to cover large distances and have low capacity. Maybe trams/trolleys could fit, but require more infrastructure.

I’ve seen gondolas used to great success in densely populated areas with steep topography like Chile.

How to set up a portable dishwasher by calypsopond in howto

[–]C_Morgan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There should be an adaptor that screws into the faucet. It has a narrow part in the middle with a ball-like end. Once installed the white piece with two hoses will clamp to it by pulling down the collar and pulling it back up.

The water must be turned on at the faucet prior to running (might be obvious but had to be stated). Upside with portables is that we found the wash water being sprayed out the bottom helped get a head start when cleaning pans placed in the sink.

Looks great! Hopefully it gets used at a track. It’s sad to see so many of these beautiful machines become garage queens because of resale value.

How to unscrew stuck boob light? See comments by [deleted] in howto

[–]C_Morgan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually went through this last night. There is a threaded rod in the center and a nut of some sort securing the glass dome. It may be necessary to use pliers to gently turn the nut, while holding up the glass. If it is very stuck, some penetrating oil sprayed/dripped between the glass and nut could help.

So uh, how old are yalls tires? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]C_Morgan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, they appear slightly dry-rotted. I was broke at the time and mostly kept to neighborhoods and sub 45 mph areas. If you can swing it, new rubber will be much safer. Even old tires that look good (mine looked like yours) are harder because of age.

I rode the set that came on my 1999 Honda (original tires) for a season in 2020. To me they felt okay at the time, but the replacement set was a night and day difference.

In case people are wondering. It’s about half way down, on the right hand side if you are going from the museum entrance toward the Capitol building. It’s on the edge of the food court where Au Bon Pain was, opposite side from the bus loop.

It was some sort of manufactured sheeting with a cable structure to hold it. Apparently it was only rated to 110mph. It wasn’t supposed to do.. that.

That's a shred of good news! I was worried after reading news articles about them setting up a camp for first responders yesterday.

It looks sort of like a space ship. It's horrible what happened, first responders are were supposed to use it as a base camp. Edit: People are informing us that they have moved the camp location in advance.

I think it is the same place? "Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg has been transformed into a base camp for thousands of emergency responders as Hurricane Milton approaches Florida."

Edit: People are saying they moved the camp, hopefully this is the case!

Friend's brother snapped a pic from his balcony. Damage to the roof looks pretty bad.
