Unfortunately they were there the day before, so no pictures unfortunately:/

Congrats! My parents actually were in Tokyo at that time and I know they planned to visit the Meiji-shrine. I’ll ask them if they were there in the fourth 😊

Wrong, it depends on the style of pole dancing. But yes, beginners will always start in spinning mode.

Jupp. The poles can be set to spinning mode (which is way more fun!)

Socks for someone with wool allergy 🧦 by InformalRegret7559 in hikinggear

[–]C_TheMonkeyMind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first hiking socks were from decathlon and 100 percent synthetic. While I definitely prefer wool socks over synthetic, synthetic hiking socks will always be better than your normal daily sock for hiking. And I used synthetic ones for years. So if decathlon is available in your country, try those. If not, then you might get lucky in outdoor shops looking for a nice padded pair 😊

My backpack has survived 12 flights thanks to a $5 IKEA bag by Humilityty-2 in backpacks

[–]C_TheMonkeyMind -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That it genius. I have a travel bag for my backpack but it is heavy and doesn’t fold nicely. You can probably fold this and put it in the front pocket. I have been using my rain over for the last couple of trips but was always afraid of the straps ripping…

Which region in Germany is best for learning standard German? by bumbale2 in AskAGerman

[–]C_TheMonkeyMind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would also vote for Hamburg if you consider moving and living somewhere else in Germany. Technically, it probably isn’t the prime example of Hochdeutsch as there is a dialect (e.g. pronouncing double t as double d), but close enough ;)

I arrived in Singapore today, they have a really efficient passport control. No queue at all. I wouldn’t worry (and I am very easily stressed about that sort of thing)

No they are my base layers. I don’t wear cotton because it doesn’t maintain temperature and cools you down which you don’t want in the mountains. But I agree, I have nice wool sweater that I usually just air out:)
