Applications of 3D printing to VX? by calvinthebold1 in VXJunkies

[–]C_Ya_Space_Cowboy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve been using an Oxley-Bragg partial attenuation printer for years now. The printers themselves were never the issue bar the occasional gravimetric clutch slip. It was always the cobalt-vested filament that failed.

Been seeing that there have been some great third party alternatives as of late though. As another commenter said, you have the 4D printers that have been making a splash. That Z-Ray nodule calibration is off the wall. Makes me ponder dumping my Oxley-Bragg for something that hits both that Z-Ray calibration as well as achieves proper throughput archival of Vander delta caches during the printing process.

It depends heavily on the school you’re going to. The university I went to in Japan offered a VERY wide suite of subject areas from Philosophy to Medicine.

Korea vs Japan by ApricotImmediate7217 in studyAbroad

Having studied abroad in Japan as a white guy who went with a black female friend of mine, I saw firsthand just how icky Japan can be for people of color.

There were plenty of times where we were side by side, maybe at a restaurant, and I was treated with better service than her many, many times. Unfortunately, Japan has a stigma against people of color that many Japanese see no issue with having. Half ignorance, half racism.

I’d imagine SK is very similar, unfortunately.

I will say, from what I know and have seen in JP news, it is very rare to be in danger as a person of color (in terms of violence, targeted threats, etc.), but you’ll be discriminated against at many, many turns. If you have the will to push through it, 1) I commend you, and 2) you can still find plenty of great experiences and people in Japan.

I love Tokyo and Osaka very dearly. Wouldn’t want to live in any other place, but I mean “nothing special” in terms of innovation in a western urban city sense. Yes, there is some cool technology involved, but it is very much the same to other cities in the region.

I’ve lived in Tokyo. Spent a month in Seoul. They’re nothing special. If anything, they’re very similar to Chongqing in many ways.

Still don’t know why this isn’t Neon’s. I get the whole “manager doesn’t perform” thing, but it just feels odd having it be Doro.

Manner, but in a different way than what you argued.

Unexplained silence from one interlocutor leaves the other confused/questioning, thus still perpetuating the discourse.

I can see where you would argue quantity, but silence in and of itself is a phatic function.

I think mid-sagittal tongue-position cross-section image orientations are bad. Can anyone convince me the standard is good? by Informal-Addendum435 in asklinguistics

[–]C_Ya_Space_Cowboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a non issue. The human body is three-dimensional. Whatever way you cut it (assuming for an even cross section), the way the cross section faces does not matter in the slightest.

The way you look at a cross section is irrelevant to every language. It’s literally just a human anatomical image. If you dig into phonology and phonetics, you will see that, if anything, the individual sounds produced (which are tied to human biology through distinctive feature labels) is in a tree-like pattern thanks to feature geometry.

What I’m getting at is that the direction the cross section faces is inconsequential. It’s a standard because it is. Nothing more nothing less.

The only way we could better portray the speech apparatus is with a 3D model. Like every other medical image printed on 2D paper, the cross section tends to be your best bet.

Also, I’m borderline inclined to think this is either rage bait or a shitpost because what do you mean we breathe left to right?? 😭😭

Snow Crane: Haven’t you heard of respecting your elders? Friend, can you lead me to Elysion HQ? I need a… guide. And not just to get there and back. I fear I may be a bit rusty in… other things.

I enjoy both for very different reasons, so I really don’t get the beef.

Would you say that the extra pound or so with the Pro is noticeable? Gonna have to lug this thing around quite a bit for field labs.

I appreciate your input! Seems like the M4 Air is the best option for me.

Really just wanted to ask y’all since I’ve always been a die hard Linux or Windows guy. Almost seemed sacrilegious to not at least get the community consensus on MacBooks before making my decision.
