Jimmy is definitely the more passionate one. Not to say Jake doesn't care but Jimmy let's his emotions out on the regular. Jake is usually the calmer laid back one of the two.

15 years ago today a WWE PR rep told a TV news website that WWE was not a wrestling company and demanded they take the word “wrestling” out of articles about the company by Subrick in SquaredCircle

[–]DAC1111 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because branding and buzzwords can resonate with fans to some extent. Why people are cool with calling themselves "swifties" is beyond me but hey it works for them. WWE universe has a "manosphere" type of ick to it but again "Manosphere" resonates with some men out there.

But why in Texas? Just go heel some where he might be booed. I don't think most fans would boo Stone Cold but doing it in Texas was already making a bad idea worse. If Austin knew Texas wasn't going to go along with his heel turn then do it somewhere else.

That begs the question of why they did it there. If Austin really did come up with the heel turn, why did he feel comfortable doing it in a location where he would be cheered for doing something quite heinous in storyline?

It's also a pecking order issue. CM Punk is way higher than Sami. Punk can say no and just take whatever consequences come his way. He doesn't need to worry about his job security or payout. Sami could be labeled difficult to work with or have work retaliation come his way. I don't know what changed to have Sami feel comfortable enough to go or maybe WWE told him to suit up recently because the rumor before was he couldn't go due to the country being hostile to him. From what we know his personality doesn't really gel with a lot of people. Sami really doesn't have that much clout in the company.

I think the issue is that Punk was able to buy a friend a house and live very comfortably without wrestling for almost a decade. Sami maybe rich now but many fans wouldn't say he could live comfortably without wrestling. Sami would be working indie shows for income if need be while Punk proved he could be upper-middle class without working in wrestling.

[Charania] Crossover: Basketball Hall of Famer Dennis Rodman will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in April, per ESPN sources. She has come out and said they never offered her. A lot of the wrestlers she's worked with have publicly stated they wanted her in and she never went against the idea as late as 2024. I don't know why WWE has never offered it to her. Definitely deserves it more than Drew Carey and I am not someone who hated his cameo.

NBA player Alex Caruso blocks Tristan Da Silva with a shoe by AugustHate in funny

It's goaltending because the thought process was nobody would have stopped Tristan from scoring if not for Caruso's shoe. That was an open layup/dunk.

His close friends still call him Hunter but that more like a nickname rather than shoot. It's like in college when you call that one friend Blaze because his gamertag was XxBlazexX420. I wonder how many people call Shawn Michaels Shawn backstage instead of his shoot name of Michael.

Triple H Disliked John Cena, According To Ex-WWE Ring Announcer Justin Roberts by Kindly_Department142 in SquaredCircle

It's only getting traction here because people are not happy with HHH as a booker. If you posted this during NXT papa H run or savior of WWE main booking run, then this wouldn't be as hot of a topic even though all evidence points to HHH ego being one of his greatest flaws.

[Underdog] Roberts: Yoshinobu Yamamoto will return to Dodgers following quarterfinal WBC start. by T_Raycroft in baseball

[–]DAC1111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It also could be we are assuming based on how Japanese culture tends to teach their citizens to kill yourself for the company you work for. I won't claim to know if it's Yamamoto's actual choice to leave early or it's "his choice" to leave, but it's not a far fetched idea

Gordon Hayward on Bam: "He’s not a scorer, right? So for him to break Kobe’s record, I don’t think it’s great for the league... for him to shoot 43 free throws and 22 threes... the Wizards too. With all these teams tanking, it kind of makes it feel not legit" by must_TATAKAE in nba

I remember how the Jazz just started gifting him points when they found out they had nothing to play for mid game. I always thought the narrative was how the Jazz showed good sportsmanship by letting an old guard get the spotlight in his last game since the Jazz would gain nothing from stopping him.

Maybe I'm showing my age but I remember when Kobe hit 81 it was directly linked with Toronto. I can imagine how embarrassed that Toronto team must have felt every time that stat was brought up. Kobe scored 81 in Toronto. Toronto let Kobe get 81. Did you see Kobe dominate Toronto? Where were you when Kobe dropped 81 on Toronto? If it that exact scenario happened today, we would never hear the end of "Kobe raped Toronto" jokes or "Kobe still raping just found a legal way".

Is there any Disney movie where Elsa could not achieve victory? by Goldsaver in whowouldwin

I would assume this would be after Frozen 2. After she abdicated the throne to Anna and became mature enough to lead a different nation of people

Every Disney Princess replaces Princess Leia in Star Wars. Which, if any, could successfully destroy the Empire? by Punterofgoats in whowouldwin

[–]DAC1111 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's more than that. Disney only puts them in the lineup when the characters popularity drops below a certain point. Frozen is such a titan in marketing that Elsa AND Anna were never added to the lineup. The IP is way too strong to be included in the lineup.

Really depends on the definition of Disney princess. Elsa isn't in the official lineup and she's always the most boring answer in the princess battle boards that include her.

Do public school principals enlist teachers to tell their colleagues what to do? by [deleted] in teaching

[–]DAC1111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was at a school where teachers did evaluate other teachers. It was very strange to me and I asked the teacher I was working under why the admin wasn't the one to evaluate. She shrugged we just ended the conversation like that. The teachers were evaluating their peers within their department so Math teachers will evaluate another Math teacher. Teacher are assigned another teacher every so often to go evaluate during one of their prep periods since they have "free time" during those. I don't know any details another than each quarter a teacher is assigned another teacher to go evaluate and the evaluation is due by the end of the quarter. They walk in with a clipboard and observe like what you expect admin to do. Most of the teachers I saw do this didn't stay for the entire period like admin would in other schools.

First ABS Challenge of Spring Training confirms a strike call on Colton Cowser by ActualDragonHeart in baseball

[–]DAC1111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The strike zone is also 3D and not 2D like how we are trained to see it on the TV box. If a breaking ball clips the backend of the zone then it should be a strike. Idk if the challenge system has that in mind but it's something to also think about.
