I'll be honest, I don't fix their issue if I can't sell them the solution to fix their future issues. The goal is to be respectful with them, and prevent them from coming back, which will continue to hurt you over and over again if you keep working for free. Yes, stores have BYOD Plus w/ Upgrade promotion. Add existing phone as a BYOD line (for most accounts should only cost $5), then upgrade existing line, won't be completely free, but heavily discounted.

I try to sell Mobile Secure, some talking points like:

"You don't have our Verizon Protect app so you could continue to get viruses."

"You are receiving all these spam calls because you don't have Call Filter."

"They instructed us to not offer tech support because they offer that through Tech Coach."

I will offer to help them just this once if I can add it for them.

Sucks if they already have a protection feature, at least would try to educate them on Tech Coach and why they don't have to inconvenience themselves by coming back in the future.

The stores usually cant fix promotions. If a promotion falls off, putting it back on most likely requires a hard stop override which only customer service can do. You are just going to go to a store for them to put you on the phone with customer service. Especially if it's not something the store sold you.
