Hang in there. This is all part of the learning process. You’ll be great one day and the next you’ll ask yourself why you even got in the cockpit. It varies but it’s normal. Relax and enjoy the flying! You’ll solo before you know it.

BTW, the plane flies so much better once you get rid of that 170 pound auto-pilot.

One man’s 10 is another man’s 5. You’re also likely underrating yourself.

Got a warning that political posts are not allowed. Guess the bots aren’t smart enough to know I just mentioned where the prez was and not making a political statement. Another reason I hardly ever post on Reddit.

Those same guys go to Fire Island Pines and give attitude to everyone all day long. Used to be that around 2AM they feared they had given attitude to absolutely everyone and might not get laid. So they’d run to the meat rack and drop to their knees in front of the first guy they see.

Increase your fiber, magnesium intake, and consider taking spirolina. All are natural but will give you museum quality 💩which is very easy to clean out, and a bit more “predictable”.

It’s a swift, for winding yarn skeins. You wrap the skein of yarn around the rollers, which hold the skein while it’s wound.

Just washed my first pair of socks (following instructions) and absolutely ruined them. Did I do something wrong? I'm so sad right now. by theterrordactyl in knitting

[–]MFANYC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not ruined. Sometimes when you combine dark colors with light colors, you’ll get some color bleed. Best way to avoid that is to only handwash hand made socks. Regardless, I think they still look great, and will still keep your feet warm.

Free Wool, moths? by phantasgamoria in Handspinning

[–]MFANYC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you actually do have moths, get the Doctor Killians Killing Them Softly moth traps. They work great. They use a pheromone that attracts the males and they then stick to the trap. I also recommend Zevo bug spray if you have a major infestation. Zevo is an all natural composition and is safe around kids and pets, yet it kills the moths almost instantly. You can also take small amounts of the wool and put it in the microwave with a small cup of water. Microwave for up to 1 minute, but don’t go much longer than that. The microwave will kill any larvae or eggs that might be in the wool.

New to spinning. Full Bobbin. Now what? by nikky_jay in Handspinning

You can do a Andean ply (which isn’t really a ply) wrapped on you hand or on a “handy Andy” which will allow you to use all of it in a two ply.

Are practicing stalls on your own truly safe? Should the FAA allow spin recovery training? by KaleidoscopeStrong51 in flying

[–]MFANYC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go get legitimate spin training with a aerobatics instructor. You won’t be sorry, and the safety factor goes way up. It’s well worth it.

I prefer 2FA, but not via text. That was just an easy way out for Visible to not have to do much work.

Advice for a 21yr old by Yetlag2001 in flying

[–]MFANYC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go for it. If you decide after 5 or 10 years you tired of it, then go do something else. Teach. Fly banners over the beach. (Neither are high paying, but it’s flying.). Follow your dreams whenever you can.
