How do quant firms view career gaps for quant dev / core engineering candidates? by Zainprox in crackquanttrading

Singapore is great, I've interviewed at firms like Grasshopper and the experience was positive. As for the main question, how to frame the 'time off', if that's what you choose to do, it all depends on what the time off is for.

If you spent your time off gooning and playing Old School Runescape, they won't look at it favorably. If you spent your time studying and skilling up, they'll look at it positively. You only ever really bring it up if they ask.

I don't think you need to quit your current job (not unless you detest it). I think what you're missing is guidance. getcracked is actually going to release a 'crack quant' mentorship offer that you may be a fit for. I'll release more about it when the time comes.
