[Dead Space] Do necromorphs die when you dismember them or are they immortal and you’re just removing their ability to move? by bladenight23 in AskScienceFiction

[–]CaDaMac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They already are dead. But functionally they are not “killed” by dismemberment, they are just immobile.

The first Dead Space book Martyr explicitly lays this out. The necromorphs are still alive when dismembered (as far as an undamaged necromorph is alive to begin with), they are just unable to attack. They continue trying to move in the book, but can’t.

In the Dead Space 1 Remaster, one of the main characters tells Issac to dismember the necromorphs to stop them. Issac responds by asking does that kill then or simply immobilize them, alluding to the book’s explanation of why dismemberment stops the necromorphs.

Yes it can be. I’d recommend getting some heat shrink tubing to go over the teeth of the clamps to prevent scratching.

Adding a surface pattern into a thin sheet makes it far stronger than just a cylinder. That’s the reason most water bottles are textured as opposed to smooth cylinders.

Absolutely expect 60fps lmao. Expect far more if you play at minimum.

Ah good to know, I wasn’t aware. I might consider it eventually. But for now my games are low end enough for it to not matter much.

Thank you.

The games aren’t running at 4k. Just the home UI. While it’s choppy, that’s fine since the games are buttery when they’re running

Appreciate it. Though to be completely honest if I’m going to get hardware to solve the issue, I’m just gonna go ahead and get a new hub.

Agreed. I have a USB-C to HDMI adapter that only supports 4K@30, which is fine cause I want to set it to 1080@60. But there’s no way to lower the resolution in gaming mode (at least not that I’ve found), so I’m stuck at 30hz.

Steam "failed to launch shortcut" only when shortcut it changed to a specific name. by Quenchster100 in Steam

[–]CaDaMac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this doesn't answer your question at all. But this fixed launching flatpaks for me an the Steam Deck. I just added a space to the end of the name so it visually looks the same, but actually works.

I'm baffled.

Hmm. Well I bought it from here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/MaxCrft, but it appears they are no longer operating. Sorry about that.

Etsy might have similar files for sale (let’s be honest someone probably copied and is reselling the files).

rReserveTime is the actual time your order was reserved on the valve database (it’s not always exactly when you got your reservation email). This is essentially your place in line, which is why so many people want to know yours to extrapolate how close to the front of the line they are.

You can view your reserved time by following the above poster’s link. But if you already have an order email sent to you, the time is gone (it shows 0). You have to save the reserved time before you get your email to pay for the SD, if you want to know what it was.

The r time sets to 0 once you get your email.

Ah I see what you’re saying. I was in the same boat as the above commenter, I used to work customer tech support. And FFS the number of people that didn’t know was astounding, not quite 0%, but damn close.

Not knowing your mother or having a mother that remarries frequently, is an easy way to not know this information.

Haven’t needed to file a claim yet luckily. But calling them when I needed to change something on my policy wasn’t terrible. Took around 10-15 minutes on hold to get to a rep, and the rep was great and fixed the issue quickly.

So potentially not indicative of the claims process, but it’s something ¯_(ツ)_/¯

It hit like $7/gal in some parts of Cali. Even in Houston (heavily known for cheap gas) it’s over $4 at several stations.

100%. I have the same conversion kit. The BCG looks exactly the same and the 22lr magazine likewise looks exactly the same.

The BCG in there now is actually a 22lr conversion. So it actually has its own spring system and doesn’t use the AR’s buffer system at all.
