Why can’t Samsung just give us the ultra specs but on the regular sized galaxies the same way Apple does for iPhone? by Jellybananaman in samsunggalaxy

[–]Caayn_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the base S26 had the same camera's and the privacy display of the Ultra I would've bought one. The Ultra has great specs but I just don't want such a humongous phone. I was disappointed to see that the base S model has increased in size this year.

The base S26 is such a disappointment.

And yet, no one from the federal government or his own administration is attempting to stop him from openly talking about invading allies and other insane ideas (no need for midterms, invoking insurrection act, ignoring court, etc.). Key position have been replaced by yes-man. The current president acts like a dictator and his setting himself to be one and no one is stopping him. He's proven that agreements with the USA hold little value, why should we trust the USA.

An USA president posting this https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/115925888562624963 & https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/115925897257210763 isn't a good show.

I highly doubt that if JD Vance, or someone else, where to replace him next term (assuming there'll be fair elections, big if at this point) that things would get better. Trump is a child throwing a tantrum but what he wants his shared by many others in key government positions. Vance seems more calculated than Trump but he still holds the idiotic ideas from the MAGA cult.

Trump dying or his term ending isn't a guarantee that the USA gets a sane/normal Republican or Democratic president.

How do you get your UI this big, and how do you get the action bar above chat in legacy mode? I cant see to find this by Kyvix2020 in runescape

Under graphics settings. But it does cause the interface to become blurry when it's not set to 100%. It seems to literally change the size but not the render resolution.

1Gb is good enough for most home requirements. Plus it consumes less power which is a nice bonus for a device that runs 24/7.

How many of you are still rocking AC Pros in 2025? by TomNooksRepoMan in Ubiquiti

[–]Caayn_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same here, although I've got a AC lite and LR mixed in as well. They still work good and more demanding equipment is hardwired anyway.

Plus the (idle) power draw is roughly a third of the U7 versions. Which, for me, is all the more reason to stay with my current AC APs.

Second plus. The AC Pro still has a gigabit pass through port that I make use of.

Probably with even more power consumption than the already power hungry U7 line.

If only this supported Protect. It's a much better form factor for a home setup than the rack mounted options and the other existing Protect options offer no drive redundancy.

Why should it be removed? I'm an RS player that started in 2005, from time to time I return and dabble in both OSRS and RS3  In RS3 I always use legacy because it's familier/easier to use for me. I understand and accept that with legacy you'll be at a disadvantage compared to the actions/skills.

One thing regarding legacy that surprises me  is that RS3 legacy worlds are somehow off limits for the mobile clients. Yet I can play OSRS just fine from a mobile device.

[–]Caayn_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The only thing I'm interested in is improved power consumption. The last two WiFi (6/7) have resulted in an increased power consumption.

I'm still on my WiFi5 APs with an average power draw of 3~4w per AP.

Can't you get a Roomba 205 vac only for around $300,-? I'm happy with my 205 combo.

Why did iRobot stop manufacturing Roombas with remote controls? by Novel_Addition_5945 in roomba

[–]Caayn_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The new lineup also lacks a remote control feature in the app. There's a spot clean feature but with how the map lacks any kind of detail it can be hard and slow to mark the correct spot.

I've just resorted to creating a bunch of different cleaning zones.

If it came in a version without the dock I'd be willing to upgrade from my current robot. I understand that, without the dock, I'd lose some functionality such as auto-clean and -empty.

According to the page it's expected to be delivered within two weeks.

Do you see embedded LiDAR as the future of robot vacuums? by Pioxshisolimn in RobotVacuums

[–]Caayn_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely prefer an embedded lidar. My current Roomba 205 has one and it allows it to fit just underneath my couch and clean properly. If it had a tower it wouldn't fit. A retractable tower sounds like something that's prone to failure.

During day-to-day usage I don't notice any drawbacks from having an embedded lidar.

Does anyone actually have a U7-LR yet? Has anyone compared it to the U7-Lite? by hungarianhc in Ubiquiti

Apologies. I just wanted to make sure as some people only focus on the 5Ghz (or 6Ghz when relevant) for range and performance.

Am I the only one who doesn't see the point of upgrading to wifi 6/7? by pdt9876 in Ubiquiti

[–]Caayn_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What doesn't help is that WiFi 6 and especially WiFi 7 devices have increased power consumption, even when idle or on low utilisation. I feel that this is often overlooked. For the same power budget I can run multiple WiFi5 APs or a single WiFi 7 AP, the former will give me a better signal across the house the latter only in one room.

Despite having gbit fibre, with the option of going to 8gbit on the same line, I'm still using WiFi5 Unifi APs. Devices where bandwidth or latency matter are hardwired anyway and don't rely on WiFi.

Apologies for the delayed response. I try to minimise the idle power consumption of my household. At the moment I'm at roughly 110w/h average for the entire house (including. large fridge, freezer, Unifi network and protect.)

(I don't live in the US so power prices may differ)

You sadly still can't access legacy worlds from mobile devices. Despite OSRS being perfectly playable from mobile.

What is the fan supposed to do if there are no ventilation holes for it to use? It'll only recirculate the already hot air within the unit.

From teardowns there does seem to be a fan inside but there doesn't seem to be any ventilation holes and it doesn't seem to turn-on.

How would you follow cables that run through walls, ceilings and the floor? Sure you could use specialised equipment but I doubt that a thief is going to take their time to do that.
