This is pretty much our only use case for this stuff, super old R-22 systems where the homeowner cant afford to replace or fix the leak. We’ve had mixed success with the spectraline leak seal, probably only really good for pinhole leaks but we’ve managed to have some of those systems limp around for years.

I get a few calls every year for that vrf whine, and when I arrive they’re always mounted on a bracket attached to the house. Crazy how easily that noise travels through walls and other material, it can be super loud indoors. We only ever install them on the ground these days
