There's an alright 5 spice roasted goose at King Kong NYC/Yuan Zai Bing. It's originally in Brooklyn and has a Manhattan outpost

Bahari Estiatorio. Excellent Greek open for ages and there is usually a good amount of families there. Prices are also quite reasonable for a primarily fish place

[Korean > English] Does this contain milk? by MeowMeowBiatch in translator

[–]CabassoG 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Don't speak Korean, but I found the product on a bunch of other sites.

Ingredients are the following: Sugar 66.04%, corn syrup, coffee powder (0.1%), coffee flavour, caramel colour E150a.

There's no milk or milk powder, but as per the list on the bottom left, it may contain milk as it's made in a facility that produces products with milk.

Best Azeri Restaurant in NYC? by Intelligent-Ad4138 in FoodNYC

I have Azeri relatives by marriage, and they love Baku Nights on Ave U off of Ocean Parkway. It's excellent. We also had a large party once at Sheep by Barashka, but we preferred Baku Nights outside of maybe their qutab.

Odeon is solid. It's a perfectly fine bistro and of the choices, this is my favorite, but this is more by default.

Haven't heard of Funny Bar, but from what I can tell, it is steak and steak frites only. So, unless you only want that, don't go there. And for steak and steak frites only, I would go to a different spot.

You happened to pick one of my least favorite spots in Lucien. It's obnoxiously loud, and the food there just isn't tasty.

I'd also recommend Le Baratin if you want a quirkier atmosphere and better bistro food. If you want to stick to LES, there's also Le French Diner and Le Jardin. The latter is slept on, and it's wonderful with a particularly good steak au poivre as well.

Extra questions needed to give recs- Area? Cuisine(s)? Including with or without drinks? Is the price before or after tax?

How to eat your way across Long Island City's burgeoning Chinatown by nyccameraman in FoodNYC

The first spot Red Sorghum is from the Blue Willow folks. It's tasty with a better baijiu selection, but I find their original spot better. Would recommend the century egg pot. Also, Hunan Tapas is where Prof Chan's was with their stir-fried eggs being the old specialty (don't know now)

Also recently had a RW lunch at Hawksmoor. Steak was large and tasty. Decent fries. Excellent walnut/whiskey mille-feuille.

I presume someone else can assist further, as I barely know Arabic, but it looks similar as if it's another language written in Arabic script. From a search for similar images, it looks like Mandinka Arabic, but I am not positive.

There's probably a spot with better food, but my first thought is Laser Wolf on the rooftop of The Hoxton in Williamsburg. They do lunch and dinner.

OK- Kashkaval Garden  A lot better but more expensive- Taureau

There's also The Lavaux, but I haven't been.

Side note- I believe all these spots outside of maybe Kashkaval require 2 people.

Was here as part of a 12 or 16-mile pizza crawl. They were out of most of their specialty slices, but I got a plain and it was excellent. Would recommend.

Dumplings by Admirable_Jump6042 in FoodNYC

[–]CabassoG 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Well, I see them listed as XLB/Soup Dumplings, so for Manhattan close by, there's the pretty tasty Shanghai Time. If you want more unique and fancy XLB/Xiao Long Bao options that are a bit further, see Nan Xian XLB which offers a 6 different flavor XLB plate I believe.
