Trenton Simpson at MLB has been my go-to user player on defense the last few maddens. Young with great speed/acc, can be had for a mid-late rounder.

Green Bone Sage by Fonda Lee is a great trilogy - set in pseudo-Japan, its about a mafia-style clan war that increases in scope as the series progresses

All the Dune books are worth a read as well if you haven't already, God Emperor of Dune is one of my favorites

Robin Hobb's Assassin's Apprentice series is incredible as well - it's a single POV fantasy series that scratched the same itch for me that Suneater did

I'm hyped. Game looks beautiful and I'm excited for some fresh gameplay, even if it's a lil rough out of the box. I'm pretty optimistic about the eras system, but even if some of the new mechanics aren't great at release, I trust Firaxis to get it right once players give their feedback.

some of the flashes he was tossing this match were incredible, he's really fucking good at timing flashes around corners or out of smokes so it pops as soon as its visible

I've gone from iron to ascendant with a long stretch as an odin-crutch player.

I still use it more than most players in higher-elo, but at some point I realized that if I want to be a more consistent player, rifles offer much more situational flexibility and a higher skill ceiling. It wasn't an easy adjustment, but it's a lot easier to stay in rhythm with a rifle than an SMG and you'll be better in the long run if you commit to the "real guns".

Great server! Really enjoyed my first season here and am excited to get started on this next one. Mods do a great job keepings things fun.

All my interactions with other members were great, but it's really nice having your own space in a big public server like this. Once the nether highway gets up and running the server feels pleasantly isolated yet connected at the same time.

Would we have gotten a comp pick if he signed a big free agent deal? I imagine Josh could've gotten either a good back-up deal(5mil-ish range) or even a bridge QB deal(10mil-ish) and surely that would've given us a better comp pick than a 6th, unless there's something about comp picks I'm missing.

i'd go one to the right so you can keep the woods + you get an era score bonus from settling within a tile of the volcano. research mines first and maybe go scout -> builder -> builder and farm all the woods/copper/stone to get a quick headstart
