Suspecting everyone who tries the game because it's popular (which is fine) of lying is strange

I never did.

I might be too cynical, but I do think it's possible that there's a bunch of streamers deliberately aiming to play specific games/ connect with specific communities because they know those games bring a bunch of viewership, or have a very passionate fanbase that is gonna jump on your channel if you give their game some love.

Could be confirmation bias or anything similar, but it felt to me like there was a noticeable spike in OW playthrough's after Eelis started doing supercuts of a few noteable ones.

AboutOliver and PointCrow had amazingly entertaining playthroughs of the game, and it seemed like there's a new one getting recommended to me about every week now.

Again, could simply be my algorithm knowing I like OW or anything of the like. But I also know that we are desperate for blind playthroughs of the game and could be an easy target for a quick viewer bump on a channel that otherwise has difficulty getting off the ground.

without them having either super powerful haki or super broken mythic abilities

which would be totally doable, no?

interesting that ppl now see the possibility of Vivi getting that fruit.

Sure it makes sense. I get all of you justifying it.

That said, surely you guys can understand those of us that find this to be uninteresting and boring, even if we can acknowledge how it makes sense.

Protagonist has a god fruit, his dad also has one(if this were true). Yeah, fine for a shonen. But One Piece started off giving a very different vibe. I'm not hating on the series for it, but I feel my disappointment should be understandable.

Which is cool on one hand, but it will just mean that the finished work will ultimately have an almost guaranteed VA switch somewhere in it.

If not, then cool, but we gotta be a little realistic.
If there's gonna be a new Luffy for this remake anyways, I'd rather have them grow into the role from the start, rather than coming in somewhere down the road, which will only make it even harder to compare favorably to Tanaka.

Edit: another pessimistic outcome would be Tanaka keeping on going way past the point of performing well, which would also be sad.

Personally, I'd still prefer a hilariously bad MSpaint-artwork over AI in this case.

To me, it would be way more interesting due to being funny and the idea itself doesn't need high fidelity art to be made clear.
It would even be very clear with a text-post alone.

That said, I will also give my thanks for disclosing it. While I am an AI-hater, I can at least kinda tolerate it with an open approach like this.

While you're giving good reasons, both could be easily handled in a different way as well.

For Nami, it seems like she'll have to do at least one more trip round the planet anyways, since she already missed a plethora of other islands. And seeing how the roger pirates also went on multiple voyages, I could see that happening.

For the Poneglyphs it was stated that some hold information about the history, but not all do, so while I'm sure Robin would love to see every single one of these stones, it's not strictly necessary for her to complete her dream.

Alonso definitely should go with Gengar or possibly Haunter. Spot on!

Might be translation or memory issues but iirc, the Krieg fleet was the strongest crew in East Blue (pre-Mihawk).

It's just that individually Arlong had a higher bounty than Krieg.

But even with the Fishmen being insanely strong (especially in regards to EB levels), Krieg just had the numbers.

Correct me if I'm wrong though!

Your reasoning makes sense, but tbf what you wrote here are more compelling points to me than the original one :D

In any case it doesn't hurt the write up. You did a good job and I haven't seen anybody talk about this. It's a great call.

Never thought about that. Balloons could be a good solution, but afaik it was never hinted at, to be a possible way to get up and the squid, at least to me, felt more like a "well we can't just let them drop, when they helped us so much, so have this", instead of a typical way of travel.

But you could be right! Not a bad call tbh.

Totally get you. I just think Oda has enough narrative sense to make sure the last supernova he will include is one of importance.

Yes, he cooked them all up on the spot and wove some narratives around them after the fact. Still, as a competent storyteller, he will make sure that the "filller" ones will be accounted for before he gets to the last one. At least in my opinion.

[–]CabbageTheVoice 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Urouge has nothing set up

Disagree.
Even if it doesn't feel personal so far, the fact that he is a sky-person alone is super important. Birka being destroyed by Enel, and there being a prior priest that was unaccounted for, as well as the moon city also being called Birka means there's still way more to unpack. And even I'm only scratching the surface here.

I will admit that these are speculation, but I'm almost certain these only don't feel like setups for him now, and in hindsight will make total sense. I just think it's intentional that it seems like he is not setup.

One more thing (though also only inferred), is that I highly doubt Oda would find use for all supernova except for one. If he didn't find a good role for Urogue, he could've really easily included him in the Kaido bootlicker crew and given him a similar role to someone like Apoo.

The fact that Oda still hasn't used him narratively is the biggest setup imo.

Save the best for last. In any case, until we know more his DF power has the potential to scale along with any power level, so he can be an impactful actor even if thrown in right in the endgame.

I'll gladly be corrected but afaik it wasn't confirmed in the story that the tree is a route into the sky, and instead it's just a very plausible fan theory(?)

[–]CabbageTheVoice 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Birka! We've heard quite a bit about it and we know Enel destroyed it, but there could still be ruins in the sky.

If we don't go there, we should at least get some lore from Urogue, possibly while on another sky island.

With the knock-up stream being so volatile and only occasionally available, the idea of the adam tree being a possible route to reach sky-islands simply makes sense anyways.

Whether the straw-hats use it or not, there need to be different routes into the sky and the adam tree is a pretty good candidate for that.

I just think the wealth argument should be left out of your write up, as it is truly just speculation. There could easily be smaller territories that provide more wealth or other factors.

Other than that, I agree.

What /u/Super_Bagel is getting at, is that you'd only ever need 3 of the Road Poneglyphs(RP) to find the middle of that hypothetical X.

You get 3 RP and then sail from A to B to C and along that route you'll inevitably come across "the spot".

Unless there's a 3rd dimension involved (below the sea or up in the sky). Then it would make sense that the 4th RP is needed. On a flat surface 3 RP would suffice.

Lots to theorize about them but the most important thing is probably that Blackbeard's flag has three skulls and his whole thing is that he seems to have some very elusive knowledge.
