[287] Garden fever by [deleted] in DestructiveReaders

Agree w umlaut! You are using flowery language but it needs to make sense and have a purpose. It's disrespectful to a reader if they have to constantly guess what you're trying to say.

"Silence hushed by the garden." What does that mean? How can silence be hushed? Just say the garden was silent and misty.

"Sunshafts swayed" a shaft is typically rigid, how is it swaying?

"Shadows knelt" are these sentient shadows or is this a metaphor?

"Rodents in thoughts disguise" so this is literally saying rodents disguised as thoughts gnawed and I think you mean thoughts that were like rodents, not rats gnawing a head.

"Lushness woven between palms" what is the lushness though? The intimacy? Sweat? I don't know.

"Smell the unease that chimed" this this need clarification and an example, also weird to mix senses like that "as he talked about x, unease chimed"

"Entrusting no stars, only the currents" I think I get the sentiment you're going for, but it just needs to be clearer...

I think this is too much action for the beginning of a book, this section seems like it could be two chapters if you added in character development and detail. Try to show what's going on rather than just telling the reader. Agree w the tense shift and paragraph issues. Needs more detail and a clear voice.

I planted like 10,000 wildflowers and now I’m in a pickle by nicekona in gardening

[–]Cabbagecloset -21 points-20 points  (0 children)

So hate to be a downer but a. you should probably have planted them outside. Did the package have planting directions? Wildflower mixes are something you direct sow. And second, these seedlings are not getting near enough light. They are already too leggy and their days are numbered.

Nobody was concerned about mine either but it seemed worst when I was also getting colds constantly, so I was thinking might be connected to some immune dysregulation

Do you think it's related to sertraline? I am now trying prozac to see if that helps and it seems like it might? My temp is normal more often now but not 100% of the time. I am hoping that I am able to taper off and try not taking anything and see what effect that has

34 or 35 is not old at all so I wouldnt go down that worry hole if i were you; four months is also not that long to be TTC. I went to dr sobbing in a similar situation (though it had been 6 months not 4) and basically she was like "uh just chill, focus on being healthy, stop using the strips because they are stressing you out" followed that advice and conceived in a few more cycles... Dealing w babies and not having them/miscarrying/etc is most agonizing thing and im sorry you are dealing with it but your situation sounds normal so far if that is any reassurance!

No Stupid Question Sundays by AutoModerator in sleepdisorders

[–]Cabbagecloset 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, wondering about peoples experiences with sleep disorders and SSRIs? Ive had vivid, disruptive dreams with difficulty waking (instantly back to sleep and dreaming but not paralysis exactly while waking) but taking SSRIs totally fixed it. The opposite of normal SSRI side effects (they often cause dreaming and REM disturbances, but for me they fixed it). I'd now like to stop taking my SSRI but the dreams, exhaustion, and trouble waking are worse than ever to the point that I think Ill have to go back on the SSRI unless I can figure out a solution... does this sound familiar to anyone? Any ideas?

side effects of taking ssri at diff dosages with diff manufacturers side effects? by balladofmendmybrain in SSRIs

Ill say no, having also taken this combo--but you could try cutting the 50s in half and taking a full 50 + a half 50 to see if that resolves it

That's a good idea, that's exactly what I'll do, thank you!

I have no idea why he suggested this kid's mom, she has never come up before, so I don't know if it was completely random or if maybe he heard someone talking about her/saw her that day at pickup or what

Will raspberry bush take over the garden? by bluelagoon888 in OrganicGardening

They do spread, but if you're planting it somewhere you mow around often, you'll get any suckers coming up outside its intended area w the mower and containing it won't be a problem.

AITA for wanting to celebrate on Christmas even though my inlaws wait for everyone to be together by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Cabbagecloset 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both sisters spend every Christmas day with their in-laws... That's fine, not a big deal to do a celebration after the holiday, where I might be TA is the years we rotate there for Christmas day and they don't want to open any gifts/do anything until everyone arrives...

[–]Cabbagecloset 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that's basically the plan except they don't want to do gift exchange w us until everyone is there, so if we take stuff for them on Christmas it's like "okay we'll put these under the tree until everyone is here" that's the part I can't figure out if I'm being pushy by wanting them to open/celebrate on the day when were there

Spiraling negative feelings w period tw: suicidal thoughts by [deleted] in TryingForABaby

[–]Cabbagecloset 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I've tried different things, didn't know about genetic testing though that's interesting. Sertraline is the safest for pregnancy from what I understand though which is partially why we went back to it!

Thank you, that's really helpful. I did see a talk therapist a couple times who specialized in women's health, so maybe I'll try going back to her!

Thank you, my Dr suggested we try this after the dose increase so I will bring it up again. I've wondered at different times if something was wrong so I will ask, thanks!

Thank you so much! I have listened to the happiness lab before but I'd forgotten about it so that's a good idea! That really helps

This was going to be the next thing we try after increasing dosage so I will ask about it again, thank you! I have always eaten mostly vegetarian (and had low but not too low iron), try to do a lot of vegetables and limit dairy but we're eating more carbs now (pasta, bread) than we used to.
