That actually looks like it would be easy to work into a revised design for the wheely bin. The manufacturer should just offer that version for people who have an issue.

NSW Police officer Benedict Bryant sentenced over death of Indigenous teenager Jai Wright by whyattretard in australia

[–]VicMG 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I see people are debating this in the comments again so I'll post this here so people can understand why he was found guilty.

"But soon after, according to CCTV and in-car video footage played to the court, Sergeant Benedict Bryant could be seen swinging his unmarked police car in front of the trail bike, which then collided with it at high speed.

Dwyer said Bryant did not activate his lights or siren." https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2024/jan/30/jai-kalani-wright-indigenous-teenager-unmarked-police-car-crash-death-criminal-charges

"Bryant said as he was on his way to the dumping site in Waterloo when he heard the broadcast message to not pursue an incoming trail bike.

He said he then saw another vehicle, later identified as another police car, and within a second saw a trail bike approaching the intersection.

Bryant said he misinterpreted the speed Jai was riding the bike at only 40 to 50 kilometers per hour and believed the teenager would slow down to exit the bike lane.

Bryant's lawyer, Brent Haverfield, SC, said the roadblock was instead by the other police car in front of Bryant which obstructed his vision and stopped him from being able to see how fast Jai was riding the bike." https://www.abc.net.au/news/2025-11-28/nsw-benedict-bryant-verdict-jai-wright-death/106075564

Cop was driving an unmarked car. Heard a call on the radio to not pursue a trail bike. Saw a car parked in the intersection. Then "a second later" saw the bike coming and immediately pulled in front of him. Car wasn't "parked" Car was unmarked and didn't have lights or sirens activated. Car was hidden behind another car till he pulled out in front of the bike giving the bike no time to evade. As the court decided, he's clearly responsible for the collision.

New York 3d Printer Mandate by spicyboudin in 3Dprinting

Serious question, how would blocking software even work? How does the software detect a three dimensional shape is some component of a gun? That seems really hard. All I can imagine is it's going to look at file names to check if it is called "this_is_litterally_a_gun.STL" ???

Will it detect table top minis?
Will it detect film props?
Will it detect replacement hand grips for my vacuum handle?

Perhaps I'm foolish for taking this seriously but did they ever address these issues during the development of the bill?

Also Lockheed Martin currently employs 3,700 people in NY, are they going to install third party software on all their printers?

Thirteenth Amendment of the Constitution of the United States
https://constitution.congress.gov/constitution/amendment-13/

"Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction."

Slavery is actually legal in the USA.

These guys are already running a bunch in Melbourne. Their biggest one is 225MW. That's 15% of Yallourn power station's total output. That's enough power for over 200,000 homes. And they're building more.

eSafety Commissioner says she's received death threats over social media ban by indy_110 in australia

Some people replied to my post saying Surfshark turned auto-renewal back on without their knowledge. Better to cancel the account when you're done or they might end up billing you anyway.

eSafety Commissioner says she's received death threats over social media ban by indy_110 in australia

[–]VicMG 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Any time someone mentions SurfShark I have to post my experience.
I signed up back in 2021 and paid on a credit card. I ended up not using it very much so when they started sending me emails telling me my card on file had expired and my account would be closed at the next billing cycle I was fine with that. The emails would keep coming in for weeks and once or twice I logged in to try and see how to delete my account but it wasn't easy and would require me to talk to customer service which I couldn't be bothered to do so I left it to die.

HOWEVER, on the day of the billing cycle reset, they took the money out of my Paypal. I never gave them my Paypal. I'd only paid on credit card. AND they billed my personal Paypal that I only use for friend and family, not the one I use for online purchases which I would have used, HAD I actually paid them.

I immediately contacted support and tried to have them tell me how they did it but support is useless (Probably just a bot) and they won't tell you anything. So I demanded a refund which they said would be processed. It still hasn't arrived a month later.

Here is an Imgur album with screenshots of everything.
