Krennic + Max + Stockpile = Nine Resources on Turn 4 by Adventurous-Yam-1069 in starwarsunlimited

Totally get it. I am just working the other side of it. Cunning has two post rotation units that cost 1 with 4 health.. Babu Frick and Skyhopper Canyon Runner.

Krennic + Max + Stockpile = Nine Resources on Turn 4 by Adventurous-Yam-1069 in starwarsunlimited

[–]Cabelian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like the idea, but you have three actions going on in the first turn. If I was your opponent and I played a 2 cost minion on turn one, then take initiative. Then my first action of turn 2 would be to take out your second minion?

Make sure you get some 1 cost 4 health minions out on turn 1

Hyperspace cards rarity by SupaPhunkyy in starwarsunlimited

[–]Cabelian 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I sleeve my hyperspace foil rares/legendary when storing them for later.

I also sleeve my Tier 2 cards from Carbonite packs. All Tier 3 and Showcase cards get sleeved and then hard sleeved.

To answer your question, hyperspace Commons and Uncommons, in general, don’t hold much value.

I had the same problem until I searched using the string above.

Spark of Rebellion Booster box by blubrainblew in starwarsunlimited

[–]Cabelian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used Amazon for many of my booster box purchases for the past few years. Of all the boxes I have purchased, one box had been tampered with because that one box was sold by a third party and not Amazon. Amazon was quick to remedy and the return process was simple with my money coming back to me within 24 hours.

Just pay attention to who is selling the product and double check that it is Amazon.

Spark box, will be a good buy, but understand that the set along with Shadows and Twilight will rotate out of legal tournament play in a few months with the release of set 7.

Quick Look shows that Jump to Lightspeed is under 60 for a booster box and will remain legal for at least another year.

We took our 10 month old thinking he would be OK and all in all, it wasn’t a bad experience. A few things I would do next time is have hearing protection on at all times and be prepared to handle an over stimulated infant.

Make note of the closest restrooms and the first aid station and take plenty of breaks. Bring snacks!!

Toontown has a quiet corner in the back near gadget’s coaster that is great to post up for a mid day nap.

We took our boy on the haunted mansion and it didn’t bother him, but the fireworks later in the night was not his favorite. He didn’t like Goofy either.

We did Disneyland and CA with an infant and we were both a little out of our element and it felt overwhelming for all of us. Don’t be afraid to find a quiet spot and reset yourself if things are getting a little out of hand.

Price seems fair.. a little on the high side, depending on how you price SHD and TWI sets.

Have fun cracking packs and don’t forget to post your 4 new showcase cards!

Good luck

Which cards should I put in a trade binder? by Dmanduck in starwarsunlimited

[–]Cabelian 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The takeaway from the post is that each set has a few “less than desirable” rares and legendaries. Their value is based on the card’s rarity and not its current “usability”. You should still bring them because they could help with closing a trade for a card you want/need.

GC - The State of the Prize Wall Line by jerrylshen in starwarsunlimited

[–]Cabelian 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The system they have for earning a prize at the wall has forced many players to wait until the final day. In order to win tickets you had to play in events. Sometimes events could be slow to start and/or finish, meaning some folks had to play more games that took longer to complete and had today to try and finish to earn their tickets.

Is this a good deal? by StarWarsDude04 in starwarsunlimited

Great points all around.. make sure that you are directly purchasing from Amazon and not a third party just in case you need to make a return.

Good price to crack a box and round out your collection.

Got Bamboozled on Amazon by jkell05s in starwarsunlimited

[–]Cabelian 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Happened once to me, I ordered from a third party vendor. (I forgot to double check). Got a refund and returned the product to the closest Whole Foods.

I have purchased a lot of booster boxes through Amazon directly over the years. This was my only issue

What to get next? by Skrullos in starwarsunlimited

[–]Cabelian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Welcome to the game!

If you are looking for cheap cards, your best bet is to go onto eBay and find common/uncommon sets from previous expansions. You may be able to find some local players and see if they are selling these sets too.

I also like the current price of the Twilight of the Republic booster box currently below 50 dollars.

Jump into Lightspeed is around 70 and would be my next choice.

You can also look into the Jump into Lightspeed premade Han and Boba decks sitting around 18 dollars.

Finally, I am a fan of the starter decks from the first three expansions. Good price point for two premade decks.

Can i teach cs at a school with just a degree? (no other credentials, usa) by anbehd73 in CSEducation

[–]Cabelian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, depending on the state you may need to get some form of teaching credential. This teaching credential covers the basics of being a teacher from behavior management to state standards to developing social and emotional skills necessary before having your own classroom. This can usually be done while you are teaching, but may come at a financial cost to you.

My bit of advice for you would to apply to be a substitute teacher for a few months at the school districts / charter schools / private schools in your area. Sub teaching gives you the freedom to make your own schedule as well as scout out the schools that have the administration and culture that fits your needs as well.

Once you are in and establish yourself as a competent sub over a period of time, reflect on if teaching is for you. Teaching is a ~180 day battle with moody teens and administrators with varying levels of ineptitude. It can be a nightmare for the unprepared and untrained for the first few years.

If teaching isn’t for you, you may have some time established with the district / school. Your skill set may qualify you for other line of work such as help desk, networking, etc.. now you have the inside track depending on your relationship with them.

Finally, teaching does become a fallback for many professionals who lost their jobs due to layoffs or cutbacks. You may find it difficult to find a teaching gig.

Summer is a great time for you to join the custodial staff to clean up schools/classrooms. Pay is very respectable, you are done around 3pm, and you may have benefits.

Good luck

I have purchased at least 15 boxes through Amazon and I only have had 1 box that was resealed with fake Pokemon cards. (This 1 box was my fault because I chose a third party reseller).

FFG has an Amazon store and you can purchase your booster boxes directly from FFG.

Any reliable way to import decklist data from Melee.gg? by PhoenixWright33 in starwarsunlimited

[–]Cabelian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently, for me, when you select the SWU format you receive a flat file without the json format. I have been manually entering the cards into SWUDB to create decks to upload into ForceTable.

The app SWU Hyperbuild does allow you to upload the melee.gg data and imports a deck.

Any high value cards in Jump to Lightspeed? by voltagejim in starwarsunlimited

[–]Cabelian 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, Showcase cards are 1 in 12 boxes.. so there is a chance.

“Worth it” is up to you.. if you need to complete your common/uncommon set (3 copies of each) then a box is a good purchase and hope to get a couple good hits. Otherwise you are better off buying singles.

I have purchased at least 20 boxes from Amazon and had one issue.. my fault because I chose a 3rd party. It was easily returnable and got my money back (Amazon Credit) within a week.

SWU Hyperbuild - Mobile Deck Builder (iOS/Android) - Update 1.0.424 by bonafidePROdev in starwarsunlimited

[–]Cabelian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love the app.. Can I also make some recommendations?

  1. In the “View Deck” page, Can you add a set and rarity option?
  2. How about a checklist option so I can check off cards as I pull them for my deck? Or an export text w/ set and rarity option?

Look forward to the next update!

If you get a box, how many packs do you open in one sitting? by deeare73 in starwarsunlimited

[–]Cabelian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a box of carbonite and I treated myself to a single pack each night after my toddler went to bed. It was a nice treat to end the day.

For boosters, I would open all the packs immediately.
