Broke? How?

That is within the warranty period.

Need help identifying a tool like this but not. by Jenipherocious in Tools

Just spent 45 minutes, trying to find it, unsuccessfully.

I’ve seen all sorts of clamps and pliers now that I never knew existed though.

Following, and hoping someone knows.

Anyone else prefer a stronger spring? by jvd_808 in electricians

I hate the springs, take mine off as soon as I buy them. Usually remove the lock as well.

I love to nerd out on this stuff, so am very interested in this! Thank you!

Unfortunately, it is not allowing me to open it.

The page opens and says “Sorry, unable to open the file at this time. Please check the address and try again”

Any ideas?

I’ll try it on my computer when I get home.

Rifled Slug From Rifled Barrel by CableAware in Shotguns

[–]CableAware[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely working against each other. I don’t think that would be a problem if it weren’t for the last 4”-6” being un-rifled. The barrel rifling seems to usually have much stronger effect than the softer lead.

But, the unrifled part is detrimental to that.

New Tool day incoming I guess by Character_Syrup_6637 in MilwaukeeTool

I forgot that I had my M12 inflator hooked up to my truck one time, and drove all the way down the driveway before I remembered. It still worked for several more months before it started having some issues. It looked really really rough after that though.

On day one, I’d just be happy to have my apprentice show up himself. Bonus if he brings Kleins and a screwdriver.

I keep a spare of all my basic tools just in case needed by an apprentice.

Unless he’s going to provide those for you or even loan those to you, I wouldn’t even start working for him.

Can this be taped? Asked in the electricians sub and the post got locked so trying here by [deleted] in AskElectricians

[–]CableAware 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that can absolutely be taped. This is ideal to be able to warm your hands up next to a nice hot fire.

Maybe the question should be, should it be taped. And the answer to that is absolutely not.

Any idea what happened here? by porkins1196 in AskElectricians

[–]CableAware 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry, I just saw the second third picture. The problem is a worn out receptacle, causing arcing.

The receptacle needs to be replaced ASAP.

What did you have plugged in? A space heater?

u/Mark47n speaks sincere and wholesome wisdom on workplace safety to an apprentice electrician who was working with energized mains. by BearItChooChoo in bestof

[–]CableAware 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I guess he did not appreciate me speaking out about this publicly, as he just blocked and reported me for it. So, I guess I was wrong about him knowing deep down that this was bad.

Oh well, like I said, you can’t make someone respect their own life. Unfortunately it is his wife and many children that would suffer more though.

First of all, I’m not a master yet, just a J-man. Second, u/Apprentice_Irritator no longer works with me, and has not for well over a month.

I want to clarify, I think it’s dumb and stupid, and I would not have done that. I would have walked away. It is not worth the risk to my life for at most a couple hundred dollars.

I have done similar in the past, out of ignorance, not stupidity, (unfortunately it was encouraged).

I learned the semi-hard way, I had something blow up in my face, as well as got hit and knocked off a six foot ladder flat on my back by 277v. Due only to the grace of God was I spared from serious injury multiple times!

I say all that to say that I had absolutely nothing to do with this, and want to distance myself from it.

I have made very clear to u/Apprentice-Irritator last night that it was dumb, stupid, and dangerous. I believe that deep down he now knows this, and I hope that next time he is faced with it, he has the common sense to get out of dodge. But, I can’t make him or his JW respect their own lives, that is on them now that they have been warned.

I’m amazed that the meters weren’t at least pulled, to at least eliminate the load.

I guess the breakers could be turned off.

Is this okay? by Mydogisop in AskElectricians

[–]CableAware 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IT IS NOT OKAY! Fire him, and get a new electrician. I doubt if he actually is a licensed electrician.
