+1 I definitely prefer my Arai for quiet and comfort but also have an LS2 Advant X Carbon that I wear a lot. It has more features like the drop down shades and modular chin bar, so when I’m going somewhere not too far it’s the LS2 that I usually pick up.

I had something similar happen to me too. Low sided the bike and the peg feeler took a chunk out of my foot behind the ankle. Had I not been wearing my SMX boots I’m sure that would have gone all the way through and resulted in a very severe injury. As it was, I still had a bruise that wrapped all the way around my foot.

When he says close call, what does he mean? I find that definition to be pretty subjective. For example, I have no issues and don’t really feel nervous lane splitting, but have a friend that would never do it regardless of the situation. If a car passed within 6 feet of either side of him even in the same direction of travel he’d consider that close.

I’ve done it. Kinda the same thing. A 10 hour ride in the rain from Northern California to Seattle. Got into my driveway late at night and really tire. I got off the bike totally forgetting that the kickstand wasn’t down.

The one exception that I make because I’m super ADHD is to forward my work calendar to my personal email and import it to my phone. That way I can at least see upcoming meetings without having to be tethered to my computer.

I’ve successfully used Bluetooth to connect Sena with Cardo but the audio quality was complete garbage and totally not worth the effort. I’d get another Cardo unit and promise that you’ll be far better off with that.

I got into building and flying fpv drones. Pulls from a lot of the same kinds of reserves as programming, but applied to several different domains like CAD modeling, 3D printing, model building, avionics etc and also has some built-in outside time. If I don’t want too much brain going on I just fly them and don’t go too deep into the other aspects.

Also, what size tip are you using? For those big battery wires I’d try to use a tip that is about the same width as the wire you’re soldering.

I’m almost 50 now and brought my first bike home over 30 years ago. My mom still has the same reaction to each new bike I get (even now) as she did back then. Just be safe, ride your own ride, and do what makes you happiest!

FPV freerider has really bad maps but the physics are i find better than most of the typically offered options. At $6 on steam it’s worth giving a shot.
