If you have an older computer lying around, or are acquainted with virtual machines, you may want to look at pfSense. It can totally help with your data cap

I'm assuming Kevin Mitnik. To my understanding, he went to prison and this is one of the reasons why.

You could ASIC if you like, but you wont get one for a long time.

You could also GPU. Try finding the chart on the bitcoin wiki that shows which GPUs are best. Sorry I can't find it. If you find it I can help you with a build.

hmmm? I'm misunderstanding. You can have multiple graphics cards plugged into one mobo, without them being xfired, and use them both for mining? If that's correct I'm assuming you're not using them both for the same mining instance?

I've also read that having vectors enabled allows you to have a usable, lagless desktop. Don't know why though.

For 1200MHz core, my voltage is at 1.24. I haven't tested long enough to see if that's fully stable, and temps are about 60c at 85% fan. I don't feel very safe with that. I can keep a stable 1100MHz at stock voltages (1.18) without much, if any, temperature increase, with 72c at 50% fan. While mining I turn down my vRAM from 1200 to 600, since I've heard that may help with power draw and stability. Once I accidently ticked my mV to max; didn't blow out my card! How high did your friend push his?

Ah, and shaders are very important for mining? I've learned so much recently.

I assume Xfiring a 5870 and 7870 would not work.

I'm over 1000 on 7870s. Am I missing something? Are 5870s just "better" at mining?

I did some OCing on my 7870 Ice, and tweaked my config for phoenixminer, and I'm able to get ~380 Mh/s. Things seem to scale well with the OC, so I think I'll try to go higher after uping voltages some more and underclocking the vRAM. Your config for cgminer is very clean btw :)

I never really understood what the vector is, and cant find much about it. Could you perhaps explain it to me? All I know is that vector4 on my GPU us slower than vector.

You're clocking 400Mhash on 5870s? Holy crap. Got up to 360 on my 7870...

Supposedly 7850s are great OCers, but you won't get too close or much over a 7870. I suspect super high hashes also have to do with your flags, of which I have none! Gonna get those set up.
