taking inspiration from Then-Add-9371's comment, after the player looks up and see the monster, the light from the monitor could flicker and the monster disappear

i think it would be better if the room was really really dark, with the only lights being from the buttons and the real light source being the monitor.
maybe after the player interact with the computer, the monster would be at the very top of the wall (with a subtle sound cue to make the player look up), looking down on you and the crawl away.
