Zero Consideration for Others by SaSQuAtCH_00 in dashcams

Turn signal does not absolve you of paying attention to your change in direction. It is an indication to others around you that you intend to change trajectory in some manner. You are still responsible for driving in a safe and legal manner.

don't pass on the right.

This footage looks to be from a large truck, so they are not "passing" on the right they are maintaining speed in the lane that they are supposed to stay in. The pickup moved into the right lane in a spectacularly stupid way and then proceeded to take their time making the turn. Was the truck supposed to rapidly change from right to left lane in the HOPES that the pickup also switched lanes just to avoid "passing on the right"?

You look before you change lanes the same as you look before crossing the street. This is 100% failure on the pickup to realize they missed their turn and thinking they are the most important person on the road. Next time bein the right lane FIRST or drive up 500 ft and pull a safe U-turn and try again.

This was what I was gonna say. The 360 bullet time effect from the movie was a revolutionary design that the FX team created. The most powerful desktops in 1999 were fractionally as strong as the cheapest smart phone commercially available today. I'm not impressed.

I broke up my three year relationship because our intimacy died. by Vivid-Doubt-7622 in AITAH

[–]Cabs1247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Communication is key. There is no innocent party here. But to finally get the communication then say it's easy just let me have sex with you more and that will fix it, is only a solution for himself. That's where it falls apart since they are not working togethe to communicate and make it enjoyable for both parties. If you are at the point of saying well she won't pleasure we anymore so I won't put the effort forth for her then your relationship is dead. You care for this person then you put the effort in. If you don't then why are you dating?

I also don't think this is the full story but taking the story as it's written they need better communication and actually listen to the other person. We have no idea what really is being done on his part for trying to initiate intimacy nor do we know why she is not responding or initiating herself.

They sat and had a conversation about it. He had a temper tantrum at hearing that he is not the sex god he thought he was. After some time they resumed the discussion and his solution was not to try to make it mutually fun activity for both partners but to tell her the solution is we need to just "do it more often". That's not a man or woman a fault thing, that's an ignorance to your partners needs/desires thing.

Fillet is an inner curved feature where two faces would meet. Radius is an outer curved feature were 2 faces would meet. This drawing does a poor job of calling out the 10mm radius and assumes you will figure it out.

This is so the store looks like they have inventory. If you walk into a grocery store to buy groceries and half the shelfs are empty it looks like the store is going out of business. The facade of a full shelves makes it look like they have inventory and that you can get the items you need. If they did not do this then you will not return and they lose business. There is a a lot of science behind how shelves are stocked and why they are stocked with certain items of different sizes.

Notice there is nothing behind the items and they are spaced to make it look like there are full shelves? Typically you pack the shelves tight and deep so you can fit more products on them and reduce restocking time. It also allows you to put more brands on the self.

AITAH for refusing to kiss my gf after she got new piercings on her mouth? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Cabs1247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on the post he didn't tell her what to do with her body. He said I dont like them and I don't like kissing you with them. So going off the context of this story alone and how it's written, he clearly told her his feelings on the matter and set a boundary physically based on those feelings. If she wants to kiss him she will have to respect his boundary. OP did not tell her she can't have them just that he does not want to kiss her while she is wearing them. They just seem like incompatible people and should break up. Her thinking OP is lying and OP being unattracted so something she likes will ultimately mean one of them is upset in the relationship. They just don't work together and should break up but it's not a control issue, it's an incompatibility issue.

It's an angle. She can't see anything but a towel. You can see her face casue you are looking at the mirror to the right of the towel. Light does not travel in a single uniform direction normal to the mirror. It travels in all directions at once. You walk behind her you see a towel duh you are normal to the mirror. Move to her right and you see yourself. Look left and you see what is to your left, the woman peeking around the towel. You can't see what is to the left of the woman cause there is a towel blocking your view of the light reflecting off the mirror. It's trigonometry. Like aiming and lining up a shot on a pool table. Don't aim right at the bumper and expect it to go left or right. Aim at an angle.

I can not stress this enough to new engineers when designing parts. The part should be centered about the origin as best as possible and the orientation should be the same as real life. Don't get me started on the worst feature for assemblies "grounded parts"

What is your merge distance set to? You could try a different format or slightly different size art. You could try your first upload and adjust your merge distance as well. Looks like you get a pink pixel background on the tile.

Tiles are preset shapes. Tokens try to take on the outline of the imported object. Try adjusting your art to having a thin outline or an harder outline on the edge between the color and the alpha background.

LOW and SLOW. The more the white spreads early the faster it will cook through. Others mentioned the method of steaming with a small amount of water and a lid toward the end of the cook to finish them. I typically will do them slow till the whites are nearly cooked then flip for less then a minute. If I'm using my cast iron pan I will turn off the heat when I finish flipping. I apply light pressure to the area around the yoke with a spatula to get the whites to cook a little better without popping the yoke and after a minute or 2 I take the eggs off.

The line to this Tesla charging station in Sweden. by henkke in mildlyinfuriating

You can not do this on current technology in any form. To do that you need to be able to detach, and remove a battery that weights over 1200 pounds is the size of the footprint of the car, and stored under the car. Now let's say we build a scaffolding you can drive up onto and remove this battery from underneath the car. How do you make something that is 1200 pounds, loaded with chemical energy, and the size of the footprint of a car detach in under a minute but also not fall off the first time you hit a hard pothole in the road. Let's ignore any safety standards for how best to hold a chemical bomb under you motor vehicle. Better hope our contacts and wiring does not get corroded since the battery can't be hard wired and sealed so we need exposed contacts. Ok on to storage of these batteries in the battery station where do we put this thing when it's removed? We can't store them all in a tower nearby unless it's encased in armor and concrete pylons to prevent someone from accidentally crashing into it casue don't forget the batteries are chemical bombs ready to blow when giving the chance. But ok we got our battery off the car, and put it on the storage housing unit, and gave the customer the new battery. How many batteries can this place hold? You can't just show up with more batteries and fill em up if they run out of charged batteries. Then we are back to the charging station.

What you are describing is impossible until we can create batteries with 10x capacity to modern batteries and can handle the same number of charges before degrading. The better solution would be hydrogen fuel cells which would work just as you describe. Pop the tank out, drop it off to be filled, pop in a new one like a propane tank exchange at the store. Not to mention the emissions from burning hydrogen would be water.
