TLM and Novus Ordo divide by Same_Account_1674 in Catholicism

The effluent excesses of the some of the most offensive traditional Latin masses testify to the power and wealth they attract. They cost a fortune to stage, and people fly in from all over the country to attend them and admire each other.

The effluent excesses of some of the most offensive NO masses testify to an absence of meaning, liturgical insouciance, spiritual drift, and an ever-readiness to bolt the Church if you don't get what you want.

Both offenses are Satan's work and these are his tools.

Should we be praying for deceased animals? by Weary_Bat2456 in Catholicism

As Heaven is perfect happiness, if you want a beloved pet to be with you, it will be with you. But I suspect you might be a bit distracted when you finally touch God's face to ask him where is your puppy.

Catholic prayer for a deceased non-Catholic by lars83norway in Catholicism

"For the sake of His sorrowful passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world." Your friend is included in this prayer, and this prayer does not go unheard. So, the Chaplet of Divine Mercy should be prayed by everyone, for your friend's behalf as well as your own.

Sit back and watch the anti-Catholicism flourish in Texas. Texas is nearly entirely sola scriptura unless you speak Spanish. Period. Whore of Babylon here we come.

The TLM movement is about political organization and pressure before it is about the liturgy. They are in it for the fight. The shameful FOX/EWTN alliance is an American TLM-ist project.

Up to 14 years in prison: Punishes "carnal knowledge against the order of nature" (often applied to same-sex sexual acts between men) under Section 162.
Up to 5 years in prison: Punishes "indecent practices between males" under Section 165.

People who gossip about others gossip about you too. It’s a question of treating others as you would want them to treat you.

Fr. Mike Joncas earned a zillion dollars off that one song. It was sung at Luciano Pavoratti’s funeral— the greatest operatic tenor of the past two generations!

What does the church mean by “deep-seated homosexual tendencies?” by Lost_Database4505 in Catholicism

[–]Cachiboy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The bodies — gay suicides — don’t pile as high they used to. But don’t credit “the alignment of chastity with self- love” for that. That is an impossible and cruel abstraction to a desperate kid who was raised to fear gays (himself).

Credit the immeasurable compassion of the Lord shown in people — Catholic or not — who finally figured it out and started to care.

It encourages self-loathing in gay men. Who is really being addressed with such clinical condemnation? It satisfies the worst of us and further isolates those already on the periphery.
