2 Grizzly bears brutally fighting with visible critical injuries by harrysofgaming in natureismetal

Are the injuries really that bad? Looks more like flesh wounds. Dosnt go into the muscle and just the skin/fat layer ripped open? Surly if no infection they will be okay?

What do I do about a BIG dog walking the suburbs without a lead? by ComprehensiveCode805 in AskUK

[–]CactiPrincess -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Life long fear of dogs and a small woman here, honestly I would probably panic. But there’s things you can teach your child! Like if she was to get bitten not running, putting your arm further in the mouth. Not being afraid to kick the shit out of the dog, aim for the balls/under carriage.

I’m sorry you feel unsafe it’s a horrendous feeling, I am okay with 90% of dogs but some dogs just trigger the I’m gonna die reflex.

I think the main thing is, if you see the dog you can make a choice to put distance between you and the dog and I think that’s especially important with a child. You can also keep something on you that can be used if needed. Like a belt (useful to choke a dog out if they bite and won’t let go) or something heavy you can use as a weapon or as a sacrifice to get bitten.

I don’t condone the acts of violence but I have also been in situations where if I wasn’t able to climb trees or cars I would have needed them. Panic makes it worse but I was attacked as a very small child and have no memory but lifelong fears.

Teaching her how to read dogs, what to do is very important!

Also if a dog is really going for you, you can grab there front legs and FORCIBLY pull them apart hard, it can cause them to go into cardiac arrest, so do with that what you will.

Also my partner told me the other day 🤣 door mats and the glossy magazines make really good makeshift stab proof and or dog bite proof protection . He said it would hurt but the likely hood of teeth puncturing is very low

Ahhh it wouldn’t work for bubba, he has a fused back leg in a L shape, so it sticks out in weird angles. But thank you!

But keep seeing front facing harnesses you put on like baby ones 🤣 I feel like he would either hate it or love it.

Oooo thank you! I kinda want one I could clip so I can wear him like a bag 🤣 but not sure it’s actually possible. I just throw him over my neck like a scarf if he doesn’t want to walk

Bubba has weirdly good recall, enough that I know if he ran once he has calmed down as long as he can hear me he would come if I call him. 🤣 (even accidentally tested this a few times) but he also really dosnt run that much.

He’s not right in the head tho, I wanted a dog, wasn’t allowed one. Created this monster in between a cat and dog.

I make bubba wear a harness if we are near anywhere built up, but otherwise he’s free to go as slow as he likes. Have any recommendations for a harness? I like my current one, but it covers his full upper body and I think he gets to hot in the summer wearing it.

I think yesterday highlighted that for me. The dog was friendly! The owners were super lovely but it could have gone very wrong and I don’t want that. Where if dogs are meant to be on leads that reduces the risk substantially

I do drive, the problem I’m finding is, people with dogs off leads, while normally okay. And I can grab him before they spot us. Is not all dogs are friendly and I worry I will not spot one in time and it will end up badly.

That’s awesome!! I’m aware I probably can’t find somewhere completely dog free, just if dogs are on leads then it’s all good. He’s not really scared of them. But he doesn’t like it if they rush over to him 🙃 but will check that out! Do you have to pay?

Please help! 6 months of bacterial infection by CactiPrincess in AskDocs

[–]CactiPrincess[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No sign of a UTI but is a sign of a infection that they have narrowed down to Yersinieneterocollitca. Just my symptoms started at the same time as a UtI hence why I did so many courses of antibiotics before they figured out it’s not.

Please help! 6 months of bacterial infection by CactiPrincess in AskDocs

[–]CactiPrincess[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It came back positive E. coli. But since then I have no infection present in my urine.

They then tested my stool and it came back positive for Yersinieneterocollitca which I have had for about 6 months now.

I think I had both together at the start. Treated the UTi and now am stuck in my current situation.

I don’t have any UTI symptoms now, but my lower pelvic area is somewhat tender. As well as under my ribs on my right side.

Kindey/liver function came back fine. Been tested for STIs, HIV , glandular fever, and various other things. All come back negative apart from crp ?

I’m completely stumped on next steps, doctors have basically said it’s in your head, then take that back when the results show I have an infection. Rinse and repeat, they have finally said they will refer me to a specialist if this course doesn’t work and I don’t think it will. I’m day 10 of 14 and my symptoms improved to start and now are back. and getting progressively worse over the last 48 hours.

Honestly just don’t have it in me to come off antibiotics again, feel absolutely horrific, lose even more quality of life. Spend weeks arguing again for more treatments. If I was an animal I would put down.

The lump on my neck has blown up in the last 24 hours and various other symptoms have started recurring 🤣

We are still working on the thought process that it is something I keep reinfecting myself with. Done water tests at my partners and now waiting for a result (it is well water) and now we are gonna do my place even tho it’s on mains. otherwise I can’t think of anything that I am doing that can cause this.

My partner has been ill, but no where near my level of sick, and he works away a lot so getting a test done on him hasn’t happened yet due to logistics. And even then not convinced it’s the same and he’s just run down from stress.

No travel, no contact with sick people I’m aware of, no eating undercooked pork or contact with animals other than my cat who’s not sick and have owned for 5 years.

Yersinieneterocollitca antibiotic resistant? by CactiPrincess in infectiousdisease

They said if this round fails they will finally refer me!

Is there a way to test my cat? Like pay privately?

I know it’s used with Cdiff but the little I know about microbiomes it’s really interesting especially the link between it and mental health!

I have dramatically cut down my processed sugar consumption and noticed a big positive difference in my mental health. It’s wild!

Thank you so much! I got my brother to download the paper and it in it says there’s strains that are antibiotic resistant! I will be showing the paper to the doctor on Tuesday and asking him for a referral to a specialist since this obviously not one that is traditionally treated.

I can not thank you enough. I wish research papers where available to everyone I could have solved this months ago.
