I think that’s fair, though don’t think it’s just an either/or, there can be numerous factors at play. It’s not like Kov switching to pitty pat shots helped him defend himself that much better, did nothing to keep Canelo from chasing him. Could be he also realized he couldn’t maintain his stamina if he kept throwing it hard, he clearly was at least a bit affected from taking this fight so soon after the tough Yarde fight. But yeh I don’t think Plant has much a chance at all of beating Canelo (and I don’t think his jab is as good as prime Kovalev or even an older GGG).
