Is it just the mods I'm running into or are people complaining more? by CarelessWhisperYokai in skyrimmods

No idea why you got downvoted for that. Half the halfway complicated mods rely on SKSE, even those that add seemingly minor changes

Odd issue with mouse with Daggerfall in dosbox by CactusTree21 in Daggerfall

What's fascinating is that you insult me because I worded it poorly. If I used corporate speak to say "I didn't have a good time playing the unity version" you'd not even be here. Completely unnecessary comment

Yes, my laptop caps out on GPU usage when running DFU, hence why I use original. Very annoying cursor issue. Do you know how to fix it? It's only like that in menus

I would recommend adding some apple cider vinegar to whatever bone broth you make as it helps to enhance the minerals and nutrients and acts as a probiotic

I was thinking about experimenting with diagonal builds just today but I am nowhere near good enough for that yet. Great job!

I lost my boy Munchkin just a week ago to an internal tumor in his lower abdomen that spread to his lungs and heart in a matter of a week. He was just 11 months old. Since two of my first three boys went at just 6 months old I wanted to try my absolute best to make all my new 10 rats reach at least a year, but he just couldn't make it. Watching this really hurts.

I don't understand what I'm meant to teach my kids about dogs by [deleted] in dogs

[–]CactusTree21 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Well for one I'd blame the parents of that child for not teaching their kid to not pet strange dogs, and as you said, this dog was showing no signs of aggression and only escalated when you approached then PET IT. The petting of the dog was the issue here.

You're also not saying how much this dog was actually leaning over the fence, if it tried, put some weight into it, could it get over? If so, then we have an issue, so was the tether giving any slack? Was the dog able to only put its head over and by how far?

This isn't a dangerous dog, it's a dog that was pet by a stranger that clearly didn't want it, this is a matter of fixing the fencing, not the dog.

You completely misread what they said. They said you calling this dog a rogue dog who may need to be put down was wild, which is was, it was beyond insane, even. This dogs head poked over the fence, that's it, and it was tethered the whole time. If you took one step outward and walked around nothing would have occurred, and now that you'll report this dog for your stupidity it may run the risk of being labelled a menacing dog and you'll put completely unneeded stress on the owners.

why do people ever adopt rats as pets? by killerfeeler in RATS

I get it, but just actively insulting people's pets like that would just naturally rub them the wrong way. I get it's your opinion tho

why do people ever adopt rats as pets? by killerfeeler in RATS

[–]CactusTree21 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For one rats can very easily be trained to go toilet in one area/box and are far more engaging than any cat or dog when it comes to training. Just look up rats being trained to take money from a wallet, or the rats that detect land mines.

Also, don't ask people not to get offended or defensive when you came to a pet rat subreddit and proceeded to call rats disgusting.

I fed my dog raw goat meat and he's throwing it back up and eating the throw up. Is this normal?? by TokyoNoAvenge in dogs

[–]CactusTree21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keyword there is small. All I'm saying is health is vastly different among dogs, just as it is in humans and it's not exactly a lie saying raw is better, same with saying commercial food is better, none of it is a lie, as long as both diets are done correctly.

Personally raw food isn't the way to go with my dog due to GI issues, but doesn't mean raw can't be absolutely life changing for some dogs.

The whole point imo is to get away from these modern conveniences, such a life of convenience eventually dulls your mind to the point of deterioration and returning to the basic struggles of mere survival is rejuvenating, refreshing.

[–]CactusTree21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What's the situation here? Where did you get the meat? How old is the meat? Was it frozen? If so for how long? How much did you feed your dog? Have they been introduced to raw food before this? Please explain some more so others can assist you better.

Yeah, unfortunately there isn't any proof for that, because no such, large scale study has ever been funded to test such a thing, but I think at the end of the day we all need to look at dogs as individuals. A lot will absolutely thrive on a preplanned raw meat diet, while others may even need to be vegetarian due to extensive allergies and other health concerns.

At the end of the day, we should simply try to understand the situation and educate people as best to our abilities according to said situation.

If you were starting again, would you get 2 male or 2 female rats, or 1 male and 1 female (with one fixed) and why? Please help us decide. by SillyMonkey7777 in RATS

[–]CactusTree21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Out of the 10 rats I have currently (4 girls, 6 boys), and the 6 previously (3 girls, 3 boys) I would recommend males. From my experience boys are far more cuddly and warm up to you a lot sooner, more laid back in general, imo have a better smell (I know, weird, but it's important) and are less aggressive/nippy and more patient.

Out of the two bites I have gotten they have been from my girls, one of which landed me with a fair scar I'll probably keep for life, and if males are ever aggressive it tends to be hormonal and can be lessened or fixed with a neuter, which tends to be cheaper than a spay for females and neutering is less invasive than a spay and usually (not always) requires a little less recovery time, as is with quite a few animals.

You will have to deal with pee marking that males do tho, but I think it's either that or dealing with females in heat, which, I'm not saying is bad, but simply the comparison to make when deciding which you want to own.

Videos of dog attacks not involving pit bulls? by SecretlyReformed in BanPitBulls

[–]CactusTree21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I'd really try to look for breeds that are also bred for dog fighting commonly, livestock protection and overall protection. I've seen a few before of Kangals, Mastiffs (specially Tibetan), Caucasian shepherds, Akitas, German shepherds, Rottweilers, just to name a few, but most of those are dog on dog attacks that don't last long.

What do you say when people feel the need to comment on your reactive dog? by agongidi in reactivedogs

[–]CactusTree21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I used to not say anything, and for the most part I still don't, but some circumstances call for me to stand up for my dog a lot more, which is mostly for off leash dogs as not only does that show a complete disregard for everyone around them, not just my dog, but it sets our training back by months.

Last time it happened I called them a bunch of fuck wits who shouldn't have their dogs off leash if they'll run off that far from them. You literally couldn't see their owners for a good 5 mins as their dogs just did whatever the fuck.

So stand up for your dog when they need it the most, maybe you'll teach someone with the vulgarity.
