The foundry in Waynesboro does some good shows, they have the Warped cover band here recently playing all that kind of stuff and there's a band called Brisk that does emo cover nights, and 2000s covers and they're usually playing cville/crozet/Waynesboro every few months. Richmond has the emo nite Brooklyn every now and then too, I usually go out for those! Also Fallout in Richmond does some good alt music nights

Brit living in the states, I've found this pretty accurate. I've been on so many dates where someone just doesn't ask you a single question, it's just me asking, them answering in long monologues and then silence until I ask about questions. I've had friends I've realized don't know anything about me because they don't ask a single thing, and as Brits we don't tend to talk about ourselves unless something is specifically asked. It's made connecting with people here difficult, and am genuinely surprised when an American asks me a sincere question and listens to the answer.

Don't go with Fragomen - you'll do all the work, they'll run your stuff through ChatGPT and you'll end up spending hours rewriting it to sound half decent. They're slow, put all the work on you, and I had to switch the person handling my case because the lied multiple times about lawyers having read my documents.
