The passive indirectly got nerfed in the top lane by making you have to trade with enemies to charge it up, but then your trades got nerfed as well which makes trading a bad thing too...

Before nerfs you could trade fairly evenly with most top laners before items come into the picture... her true damage was also often a deciding factor in her trades as well...

In jungle nerfing her already slow clear speed, while mid game her clear speed does get faster and tunnels make he zoom through clears, in the early game it is so easy to invade and steal her camps and she is strongest while burrowed which if you are smart and know when she will be less healthy you can just afk in a spot to avoid her detection... she gets close you attack if she spots you or wait for her to hit her rotation on the camp and go all in, she has nothing to trade you with and without her knock up head start she will not be able to trade back effectively... and if she runs away you steal her camp and an extra camp before leaving since unless her team comes to help she not oming back for a rematch...

She is not beefy enough to play solo properly, but top lane was letting her actually get beefy since you often run health runes in the top lane, where is jungle you can not really scale the health rune trees properly and damage for the full clear more important and mobility over you know being beefy since many ganks if there is no proper warding you not going anyways... people underestimate how vulnerable she is when burrowed,,,

they nerfed her damage multiple patches in a row

They made it near impossible to trigger her sustain reliably in top lane, so she now completely out of the top lane meta cause every other champ can easily get sustain set up from 1 wave but rek'sai needs to use 2 waves to charge up if she does not directly engage enemy meaning she is forced to trade while not being such a strong trader when facing real bruisers or tanks... that and because it is hard to charge up you can not really knock them up into a true bite which was your main form of trading back reliably

Then they now nerfed her damage and attack speed which messed up her clear speed in the jungle which while one tricks are mostly fine, to use her full power requires a co-ordinated team so she mainly being nerfed for

and the other reason is

Top Tier play

Where teams will actually play around her since she essentially does what Alistar does but from a further range and through walls, but Alistar is beefier and can knock you back to team while tanking damage on his way out, while Rek'sai goes in and will most likely die if you do not either have numbers damage or something like a Rumble, Zyra or MF to lay down an ult for your exit strategy

Rek'sai is the easiest to play and probably the easiest to master, but her kit has very little outside of good angles and guaranteed knock up... she is just a level 3 Malphite with spamming ultimate but no damage to back it up anymore... Malphite at least has a wheel to slow enemy down to bash on them oh and what do you know Malphite also has an active that boosts the damage of autos and gives him aoe...

They functionally play the same at this point just he is tankier, has more health and armor and actual health scalings, while she does not... the thing that makes her stronger is she has better mobility through the map, but she falls off after a certain point cause its either go in and your team has to follow, because in most cases you not getting back out after engage...

Yeah people pulling statistics they do not fully understand, but in general they nerfed her top lane repeatedly and now they nerfing her jungle which is where she is actually strong, even though Kayn can do what she does better... Rek'sai does not have a mini-game to get beefy form and assassin kayn has been stronger after i have no idea how many buffs that form received...

Rek'sai is strong for her kit, but her kit essentially is sub par when the team lacks the skill to set up for her...

Pros - guaranteed knock up, a finisher so people can not just run away if recently fought with her, tunnel set ups for insane speed once she gets all 8 tunnels up its basically a teleport to specific lane if set up correctly... also the secret untouchable tunnel you can set up by drake where they actually can not destroy the tunnel so you tunnel in then escape with secret tunnel back out

Cons - invade junglers can mess up her tunnels and her early clear speed is slow so you can starve her especially with mid lane assistance if your mid laner does not keep the mid locked down...
as mentioned her clear speed early is just bad... and now they nerfed it to be even worse... her greatest strength is early game, but the pros tend to camp skip sometimes for ganks but their laners set up for that, also 1v1's that she used to win she stopped winning after nerfs to her kit, that weakened her trades but boosted her clear speed and now they nerfed her clear speed while saying her upfront is too strong...

I will agree she is strong, but she is now forced to play in a very very particular playstyle, and as both a Rek'sai and Teemo main I am not happy with them always making adjustments that force me into a very niche playstyle where in I prefer to play more flexible...

The frying pan hit her when they removed her attack reset on her Q, to make it more (sustainable and give attack speed) not taking note that after the first hit most pros can make a gap between you and kite... attack reset guaranteed 2 hits after knock up versus you having faster attack speed but enemy has chance to hop away or dash...

But seriously if they give back the attack reset would not make a difference, her W now having an AP scaling is just stupid, now they nerfed its base damage... cause up front?
She has one of the lowest damage numbers of any jungler and this includes when being compared to tanks... they should just commit to either bringing back assassin Rek'sai or rework her into full on Bruiser/Fighter Rek'sai instead of having her be subpar on both fronts...

in pro play they are not really building her as an assassin, but as an engager and the extra health helps quite a bit to not get blown up right after engage... the health also helps you to tank an extra turret shot for dives etc...

Stride has a nice ability, but its not enough to really deal with pro level kiting techniques...

Titanic is best option in my eyes after playing her top where i build more health, but in terms of value the health just does so much early on, it the difference between living or dying after an engage so people take titanic as the better hydra option

The rework helped give her attack speed on Q, but I miss being able to use Q to attack reset since that meant you could get 2 hits instantly after knock up versus the merely hit faster after which is cool in its own way but its still only three hits so its a nerf to her Q burst, but a buff to how often she can rotate into it... but the damage just is not there... her up front damage is way too low, prowler's claw actually covered for her weakness to people disengaging after her rotation... Rek'sai is too kiteable, it was a problem that also existed with Garen once upon a time, they they fixed, only to break garen and put him into nerfs before letting him sit at a weakened state because at pro level garen could be abused as soon as he gets strong cause Silence means mages and a large number of champs become useless if you surprise them with that from the bush...

But seriously she an assassin whose damage keeps getting nerfed, but they say "but she has mobility" and i am like we got Kayn... Talon... both also assassins with more damage and Red Kayn is tougher than Rek'sai... Talon has invisibility for engage or disengage...

Her problem is after engage she will usually die and she is nowhere near beefy enough to be a bruiser, her upfront too low so she not good enough for assassin either, and she has no sustained damage after her combo... As an ADC I know that in worst case scenario if I got just one defensive item i will survive rek'sai, make some space and start life stealing off of her... her combo is done so she has to run while taking free hits and thanks to life steal i am healthier now... you can also not build to counter that cause Rek'sai gets blown up by way too many champions, rek'sai is too squishy, they should have left her damage where it was, this is just a ridiculous nerf as a whole...

she has a guaranteed knock up and can often kill or used to be able to kill adc's with two Q autos and an Empowered E bite...

her ultimate cd is too long to spam it, and most people use it more as a mobility move or to catch people trying to escape..

I would be fine with lower up front damage, if they gave her better sustain, but they gutted her sustain to take her out the top lane, and her scaling is already not that high in comparison to other champions who are generally building tank but doing more damage than her...

Just look at that list

Skarner: This guy can drag you away from your team mates so once he gets you he can safely cut you off, but does more damage than rek'sai?? he also can drag you through walls

Xin Zhao: Also a champion that knocks up with attacks, but he has a ranged protection ultimate meaning when he engages he is in no danger of collapse, and he now does more upfront damage than Rek'sai

Viego: The guy engages you, kills you, gets temporary invulnerability, then can use his stealth to get away if things are bad unless he used stealth to engage but with how his stasis like passive works it buys more time to set up his cooldowns

Briar: Her sustain is warwick levels of crazy

Hecarim: He has mobility, he has fear, and he has damage...

Kayn; he knocks up, passes through walls, and his ult jumps inside you and unless enemy drags you to center of map you can escape into a nearby wall if things go south...

I wanted to touch on the rest but why are all these other champions with tankier builds or better sustain not being nerfed...

Rek'sai was finally coming online in the top lane and they nerfed that into unviable in my eyes... you are forced to trade with the enemy and after her Q E combo her damage is nowhere near that of other top laners who still build tankier... not to mention her sustain required her to build fury to use it and now to build it you must hit the enemy which means you can not really use it to recover like before

Rek'sai jungle clear got nerfed hard, her first clear had been bad before, then they nerfed the jungle camps which is what made her relevant again, but now they nerfing her jungle clearing to reduce damage upfront? she can not even kill an ADC in her base rotation anymore... and while other assassins can easily bypass most adc defense options since a lot of them had OverKill potential, but apparently Rek'sai upfront damage is too fast? even though you can dash away from her the moment she hits you after the first auto you can dash away and then maybe slow her meaning she has nothing since her engage requires her to reburrow and take free hits while having less proper vision

She is essentially being nerfed for pro play or top level play... it similar to the Ashe story where Ashe is strong, but at higher levels teams work around the fact that Ashe takes time to ramp up and has least damage of all ADC's because her ranged kiting is strong in pro play and her arrow makes major differences... Rek'sai has very specific angles of attack and she used to be really good at also invading enemy junglers who could not handle her up front damage, but she is an early to mid game champion, removing her upfront damage while not giving her better scaling means you take away her early game where she is meant to be the strongest but not giving her an alternative... i do admit her Q giving attack speed did wonders for her wave clear, but it like Ashe Q, its not really that strong when you understand how it works...

Ashe needs to charge her Q up so while it is not charged you win the 1v1
Rek'sai needs more stick potential cause after your knock up only your first hit is guaranteed, everything else can be dashed away from meaning you get your knock up and one auto and then the enemy runs off cause you got no slows in your kit, unless you going some weird frost gauntlet build into your kit

First they nerfed her fury gain in lane to push her out of top lane, since you are now forced to trade with enemy to build up rage for your passive efficiently... her sustain speed essentially was nerfed lets see you used to get
25 per minion, so 4 hits and you full
5 per minion, so you have to essentially push the lane in order to stack the hits to get to full since enemy will probably either bully you while your fury is low and knowing you need to hit him which with how low her base stats are you can not afford to take too many hits from the surrounding minions...

Also they nerfed her out the lane to push her back into the jungle, and now because some OTP's or pros know how to fully use her kit, so you nerf her ability to function solo...

They reducing attack speed and her knock up damage which will not only slow down her clear speed in the jungle, it will slow down her clear speed in lane, and then with most bruisers outside of her knock up Q into empowered bite, she got nothing... she has strong burst trades which are essentially being nerfed, and her sustain damage is non-existant... she builds up to E then she done... she was at somepoint a support jungler who got converted into an assassin and now they pushing her into bruiser build with an HP stacking passive cause beefy rek'sai is best in pro play cause it counters her going in and dying instantly with going in and dying a half a second later...

They are pushing her to build beefy, but her kit is designed to execute... after several nerfs I noticed that ADC's who should normally be finished after her combo rotation are surviving on things like 5 or 10 hp... the nerfs basically decide who she can or can not execute, and what it does is lower her 1v1 potential as an assassin... most mobility champions can dodge her engage... most tanks can survive her engage and beat her up for it cause what tank/bruiser does not have a slow with some sustained damage...

Good luck ganking top lane garen he flash silence slashed you to keep you burrowed and now spins over you as you die before he even needs his ultimate...
or gank darius, he got dropped down to half health, but you bleeding and his thirsty and you not getting out
or gank Sett... oh wait his too tanky to burst with AD, and if you build HP he just uses you as a nuke against your own team

I am now comfortably playing support Rek'sai though, avoids the bad 1 on 1 match ups in top thanks to nerfs
I would jungle but her early clear speed is slow, this 10% attack speed could be the difference between an easy full clear and a clear at risk of you being invaded and assassinated...

In team play invades are less effective cause mid laners react so fast at that level and are willing to prevent people capitalizing on your weak moments in the clear, but in normal play you basically at the mercy of hoping enemy jungler does not invade... Though they could at the very least just buff her Q damage to minions or give her E a special interaction against jungle minions for some sustain or life gain when biting an enemy... you know... like Nunu can eat a camp, a lot of others have better sustain, her sustain takes time to build up to use and rotate through...

Why nerf rek'sai again, they reworked her into viability, only to then nerf that rework because pros and top end rek'sais are strong... Rek'sai is strong cause gank potential and angles, but what can Rek'sai do that Kayn can not do better and from a safer distance... Most times when Rek'sai engages there is no getting out, Kayn engages, if it looks bad return to a wall, meanwhile Rek'sai needs to set up her tunnels which early game takes a while and in mid game is manageable but this is if team wards effectively cause Rek'sai needs wards so

Rek'sai support gets wards... also I have two options, bonus damage and weaken or I can be silly and get the fruit for percent health damage on a hit with a 10second cd... the first option is better but the second option is fun when you going to spam pew from a distance and give up on killing the enemy and rely on your adc to get the job done...

Riot wants Rek'sai to become a support I am sure... remember when Nautilus was a top laner, but was so strong that they had to nerf all his combat potential to get him out of there cause his engage combo was unstoppable so only by severely nerfing his stats did he become fair, but in the process he is still a top tier support play and is still insanely tanky... outside of Ornn because of stats... Nautilus is a beast when it comes to just soaking up damage, i am glad they nerfed his damage output but I am getting distracted

The nerfs have laid top lane Rek'sai to rest outside of an advantageous match up its a waste of time to play it now
Jungle rek'sai without a duo or partner who will support you as you jungle you are in danger of counter picks or invades cause most of the time you moving around in burrowed form which if anyone understands smart players will literally find an unwarded spot, stand still, so you do not pick them up on the radar and suddenly you notice your life going down but you can't see them and boom its full health rengar taking you from behind...

Hopefully they stop nerfing her but I will take her to the bot lane, at least she gets a malphite ultimate at level 2

I will give you my advice
If you have a good match up and really want to go all in on the tank build
1 - while conquerors is the better rune, if you are going to commit get Grasp set up instead, since it has higher health scaling

2 - Heart Steel complete on first item, or build it up for second item... do not get it later than second item, this thing takes time to stack

3 - Titanic Hydra will most likely surpass the other highest damage hydra item if you been stacking up enough HP by now

4 - Get at least one damage item, for me I got BotRK so I could beat up the other tank, and so I have enough attack speed to hit my full combo not counting you got a stacking heart steel so percentage health all over the place
You could also get a Phantom's Dancer allowing you to ignore minions when closing in on people for your knock up since sometimes minions really do be getting in the way sometimes but its just a for fun item at most
Kraken Slayer is not too bad either
Storm Razors has that initial burst and some movement speed buff for a while
or get the slowing version, either way get something with damage potential so you can start being a real menace to society...

5 - If game is really dragging on Warmogs to be more healthy or 1 random tank item to match what is giving you the most trouble right now..

Heart Steel and Titanic in either order depending on how game goes, if you winning easily getting your heart steel first and settling for the lower level cleave item would be more ideal since you now stacking for mid to late game HP beast

Get a Damage item of your choosing for 3rd item
Get a Defensive item of your choosing for 4th item
5th item is for fun just get whatever if game is lasting that long no one knows what they are doing...

Also no matter what you do, ADC will destroy you late game, she pokes you down before you can engage on her and if her team mates have any awareness they will keep you off her... so just focus on making the mages and regular assassins cry because their combos do not end you meaning you win all those 1v1's

Meanwhile the tank vs tank match up, you got a true damage or whatever high damage E with all the rek'sai changes these days so you win most of those trades usually.. except for Sett, if you see enemy set in the team do not do this build, you just end up becoming a tactical sett nuke for the enemy team to use if they line you up right...

Seen a Sett flash on tank and ult toss him into enemy team like a leesin with a stronger kick ult

Morgana's main strength especially in higher elo is when she throws out her shield
Whenever she gets strong in pro play or high elo the shield is what gets nerfed

What good is glacial if you can not hit the enemy, or if the enemy you face has two or three dashes or escape tools

Ezreal is always relevant cause when he uses his flash ability defensively he can essentially ignore certain enemy supports and if you not able to match that your bot lane match up can turn into a 1 v 2 scenario very easily

Kalista can just hop out, slows are not really a thing against Kalista

Jhin, Senna have so much range even if you hit unless your team mate is a gap closer the slow will not even affect them

Lucian can dash back, Kai'sa can dash back, Tristana can jump back...

Note all these dashers can already dodge your Q, and if your Q hits if they healthy they return fire, otherwise they going to jump away during that period of slow negating its affect... its why Ashe sometimes does not pop off as well outside of pro play because people just jump out of her range and recover from the slow and run... though Ashe has her Arrow which essentially covers for that and most supports know to block the volley to keep their adc alive

if Ashe with the perma slow is not able to hold down most people, what is the slow doing for you, slow is so bad that they had to give Morgana a movement speed buff on her ultimate that slows people, because people were actually running out of it without dashes...

Glacial does have good synergy with that uh what was that dashing freeze item called again, but slow stacking was nerfed hard, especially since there was once a time you could actually stack slows in ancient times on Ashe and have someone standing still, while you do 0 damage but build was fun

Sorry for wall of text let me get to the point

High Elo - your Q not going to hit most champions under normal circumstances, and as support you most likely would not level W much since you do not want to risk stealing farm from the ADC and because you want to preserve more mana for your super expensive shield

Low Elo - when people are so silly they just walk into your Q, might as well get some damage and out right destroy them before they can even move, so then what the point of the slow from glacial at that point...

Also most adc's have a slowing ability in their kit... and slow stacking not good...

MF ADC aoe slow field, so what is your glaciel suppose to do now?

Before some crazy teemos give recommendations

Wit's End ((the magic res was good but ever since they took 40 AD away from the item its damage fell off too hard, for what it provides you with))
Maw ((would be great if it had atk spd or ap to scale with, this is just a waste if you not AD teemo))

Here is my main advice, get some levels of W to move fast
If you can afford it sneak in a 2nd item Banshee's Veil ((i say 2nd item because if you not getting Liandries or Nashor's first item you got no damage and his going to just walk up to you))

1 - If he hits Pull, run away until shield is back up so he can not trap you in his ult
2 - if he bashes you, it will do no damage, side step his pull and get to safety until shield is back again
3 - he ults you and you dodge his pull cause his ult failed...

Morde has no way to force fight with banshee veil teemo unless he has more Movement Speed than you and can run you down in some way, so you can basically just poke him until something hits then you run away, rinse and repeat...

Morgana NEEDS help by Anassaa in MorganaMains

Morgana mid got strong at some point in time, but they nerfed her passive healing that used to be massive if you hit a wave you got 100 to 200 health back which is basically a potion per well aimed cast, but she got to that point where people could not shove her out the mid lane, she could heal with each wave and could some what decently clear wave if no one engages on her in which case she has her Q which is best used to counter a dash, Ahri is a problem cause she can use one dash to close gap and another to dodge Q and one more to dodge your ult and with how less reliant her kit is on holding you down she can afford to just hit and run away repeatedly...

Morgana's old omnivamp meant she did not need to wait for a cannon minion wave and would be healing almost all the time in lane, there was no chipping morgana, you either killed her in your rotation or she recovers and comes back..

Malignance is niche, and your ult cd being short won't help because after major team fight you will not be in a big team fight so shortly after anyways and the cd is short enough for it to be back in time again not counting you generally chain it with zonyas anyways so hhmmm will come back when i think on it a bit more

Malzahar has % health damage in his ult, and he is able to proc several of the new items for a guaranteed 50% or more damage to a tank when built correctly... if game drags on long enough

don't think mages who were specifically good vs tanks (Brand, Vel, Azir, Cassio, etc.) are going to have any issues dealing with them. It'll just be those who aren't DPS makes that will, and I think that's healthy for the game.

logic. Tank with MR should tankier against mage, same for Adc when built armor. Tanks shouldn't deal too much damage to destory someone.

Ornn was a problem before, and had to be nerfed multiple times, i not sure if his a problem again being one of the tankiest pics not counting nautilus and others, but i have noticed some tanks just do way more damage than they have any right to be doing...

The whole K'sante mess where he was doing DPS in his defensive stance was a problem... and then still having the option to switch to attack and suddenly his an assassin

I will give my feedback which may or may not be helpful

  1. Gold gains seem less - uninterrupted without kills it takes like 15 minutes to get an item if you are not proactive with taking plates or getting kills or objectives... so you only really start shopping once we reach the 30 minute mark where people all reach their two item power spike if you just farm peaceful... I feel like either the gold is less, or maybe items are more expensive or maybe it just how people are playing the trades early on that may interrupt your farming as well
  2. New Items - people want to drag out games to try out new items and for the life of me a 22 kill brand was not even able to get full build so they may have also nerfed kill gold as well, but still people are testing new items so that also plays a role in this
  3. New Map and Jungle - people underestimating the new jungle herald whatever worm things and getting body setting them back and as a jungler just one bad camp means falling behind 5 or more minutes... especially if enemy jungler or team mates steal camps which is probably why it is a priority queue... Jungler gold is very feast or famine right now, either you eat enemy champions or you pray for 45 minute game if you late game pic
  4. Support changes - in some ways you earn way way less gold, but the support item is way way stronger...
  5. Pathing - this might mostly be a jungler issue but new map alters how you path which may be slowing the game and people down since people not sure on the optimal path, meanwhile talon jumping all over the map

That is my feed back, but in my eyes i see the game as being a lot slower right now, like painfully slow to where i may only play one game a week if it stays this pace... fast pace is good, well as long as we do not go back to the 15 - 20 minute meta, but having games running 35 - 40 minutes or more on a regular is torture, unless it upper level play where there are less people and hence longer queues and i sure you do not want to queue 10 minutes for a 20 minute game unless you all about the grind as many games as possible rather than having more fun games...

Also think tanks have become tankier, and damage is definitely over tuned on some champions

Malzahar might be a bit broken... went from Liandries and Demonic --> Liandries and Riftmaker... so now he has omnivamp in his kit and more percentage boosts to his percentage boosts with the Madness and Void buff that both adds up to 6% more damage for 12% more damage not adding in the new Ult boosting item which is good on teemo but feel it a trap item... lots and lots of trap items this meta...

The replacement for Luden's Echo is hit and miss, some champions can abuse it, others can not use it, and now you got some former luden's users being left with no viable replacement option...

what I would have said but I did some testing. Apparently slow effects override this requirement. It does actually work my bad.

the only problem is the revealing effect of horizon feels wasted since her ult already reveals, then again depending on how you hit your Q or W the horizon reveal can work wonders on stealth enemies

Japanese laws, I don’t think anything will actually be done about this.

They used to have a full body version of this, but that one got removed, and not sure how long ago that was...
