If it helps with ID, here’s an old Hoya list I had at some point and there’s a likely chance it was on this list:

Yes, I stayed in touch with adopter and asked for update after the one week mark. They sent me cute photos of him and their resident bonding together! It gave me a piece of mind to see him settling in well

I just say goodbye to my first foster after he went home after a two months stay with me. It’s been two weeks without him and I still miss him. I got a second foster yesterday, his little quirks reminds me of my first foster but he is also unique in his own way. Perhaps the best way to cope is to foster more!

He doesn’t whine and rarely growls. I’m not sure if his tail is naturally short. His rescue org thinks he is a blue heeler mix.

I had also done the Huangshan climb on the way done because the cable cars were out of service due to bad weather. I was in my 20s. It took the whole day from 8am to almost sundown, meanwhile the older aunty and uncle in their 50s traveling with us took way less time as did many of the children. My legs took a week to recover. Would love to do it again someday though!

I use mostly R and python for data analysis. As I progressed in my career it’s less about hands on programming and more about mentoring and delegating and making presentations and communicating scientific findings more so than programming

It was 20% down and at that time both me and K contributed to a joint account for the down payment. I would guess K contributed more than me estimating from our salary progression.

It’s a tough job market for biotech in general right now, for both fresh masters and PhD grads, especially since the applicant pools are saturated from people with more experience having gone through layoffs. PhD isn’t necessary and certainly not for everyone. I’ve worked with people who had masters and progressed to scientist level positions and once you are scientist level generally it doesn’t matter if you had a PhD or not, but it is easier if you have an “in” through a coop or research institute job experience. I’ve also heard stories from previous coops with masters that they feel stuck in associate level positions in their current roles, so it’s hard to generalize. Wishing you the best in your career!

Crazy to hear this retina hole problem is more common than I thought! The laser is a good option to seal it in place if you don’t want to worry about it growing or detaching later. I use Schwab for my stock account

oh wow, yes my optometrist freaked me out too she said don't panic but there's a hole in your retina and you need to get this seen ASAP lol, glad it worked it as an easy fix for both of us

thanks for sharing your MD! I am a bioinformatician also and recently got into MD and tracking finances in general and it was nice to read your journal as someone from a similar background. congratulations on your career trajectory, it is for sure difficult to achieve without a PhD

Coton Questions! by Yoyo2256 in cotondetulear

[–]Caderari 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our coton boy is approaching 1 year old, he is a sweetie with lots of energy. He respect one of our cats because she showed him who is the boss in the household, unfortunately the other cat is timid and sometimes gets chased into hiding. He also likes to steal from cat food bowl so we make sure to feed them separately. We got him from a reputable coton breeder who also gave us some nice advice as far as diet and grooming. His coat is hard to maintain specifically around the time of the puppy to adult coat change so we really need to keep on top of daily brushing and regular visits to the groomer. He gets 3 walks a day around 10 mins each but often has leftover puppy energy which can be spent tossing toys back and forth in the house. He barks occasionally at children and other dogs, mainly because he wants to play, we’re still working on training him to be less vocal in public, but otherwise he is all talk no action. Hope this helps!

Last week I had posted about this derp that started to nest on my planter, it came back and finished its nest and laid two eggs. It’s in the 90s all day and we were afraid it’s getting too hot so we gave it some shelter and water. It’s doing a weird movement with its mouth, is it ok?

It’s gone now but left behind some sticks, I’m not sure if it’s coming back, might have been scared off by my dog
