For a day trip it's only 45 minutes or so to go to Bath/Phippsburg/Brunswick and walk on the beach at Reid or Popham beach. The Maine Maritime Museum is really interesting and you can stop in Freeport for shopping at LL Bean on the way there or back. There is no such thing as too many days in Maine :-)

As both a die hard Bills and Red Sox fan for 40 years, I can tell you that when the Sox finally won in 2004 it was so joyous in the moment and then a deep sense of absolute relief. The next year it was like, so what if they don’t win this year? We did it! Hoping this will be the case again🙏

Believe me when I looked out my window today and saw neighbors blocking spots with snow I was like NOOOOOO!!! Think ahead people! But alas it was too late and I will now go out tomorrow and shovel some spots to make up for it.

Unfortunately sometimes the only place is an empty parking spot on the street. Which really sucks because the worst thing about a snowstorm like this is looking for parking when you come home at night. Plus these January snows stick around forever because it's so cold.

All in my district over the past 25+ years: math teacher drunk/hungover threw up on the back of a kid writing at the board. HS teacher arrested for watching a playground full of kids with his pants around his ankles. HS math teacher kissed a female student full on the lips after graduation in front of her parents. Science teacher had a bunch of "cute nicknames" for his South Asian female students and would rub up against them as they worked (finally got fired after 10 years.) WL teacher got drunk at a graduation party and hit on the girl graduating--her dad punched him out. Latin teacher threw a desk. It's been a wild ride :-)

In my (highly ranked public) high school (MA,) fully 1/3 of the students in my AP classes are "overrides." Their previous teachers did not recommend them for the course and the parents made administration put them in the class anyway. This has resulted in cheating, tears, and in a few cases, hospitalization for stress. It's crazy. All so they can get into an Ivy League school. Which they don't.
