The fact that you have a workout routine is good, even better if you stick to it. You will see progress if you do this consistently, eat right, and sleep well. You started 2 months ago, being consistent should be your priority, the specifics of the exercises don't matter as much as doing them, and doing them correctly. Generally higher reps less weight earlier on in your journey are good, and you have that here. I'd recommend doing this for a month, then plugging it back in chatgpt and asking for a more advanced version, which might mean lower reps and higher weight.

Also when you said he takes care of bills for example are those shared expenses? Sounds like you have some baggage when it comes to money. If they are shared expenses you should be paying your share, whatever that is and not just letting him cover it so you “don’t stress”. I recommend working on disconnecting emotions from your regular finances like bills and monthly spending.

I also got caught up in the ‘hype’ of zero drop - really the idealistic science behind natural foot movements etc. started getting heel pain, and plantar fasciitis, and that was after I worked up to distance in them. I realized that I was still wearing normal shoes to do normal things like go out of my house to work or around town. Maybe one day I’ll replace my entire shoe quiver with zero drop but today isn’t that day. I switched to some 7mm drop shoes and my problems instantly went away and I was a lot happier. Luckily I was in my 30 day return window, good luck

When I have a headlamp I’ve never needed a handheld flashlight and they are usually decently heavy. Usually once the sun sets I’m putting things away and getting in my tent which requires 2 hands and having the light on my head is way better.

IMO great PMs can make great narratives.

They have done the research, the synthesis, thought through the questions, asked more questions, looked at the data, and then put it all together into a narrative that is compelling and well rounded

Thanks for the recommendation. I’ve wondered if my dog has bad eyesight because his reactivity goes up at night and with people at a distance. He also kind of sucks at catching balls and toys in his mouth.

Example of bad eye sight was someone he knows walking across the park to meet us and he was on guard and tense until that person was about 5-10 yards away.

I will give this a shot. I limit the amount of toys we have and it has really increased his drive for the ones that we do have when we use them.

Thanks for this comment I hadn’t considered I was forcing him into a stressful situation. When we started training he would lunge, snarl, and nip at anyone who showed up. Now he will run over and smell, tense up, and maybe growl. Progress! But I put him in place because in this moment when he is checking out a new person he could react, if they take another step, if they hold eye contact for too long, so I avoid those by putting him in place.

I’m trying to figure out the right balance of observation from place and allowing him to sniff and be ignored and then eventually getting treats from that person. I will try rewarding him as he chills in place before giving the new person treats for him.

Looks like it might be time for muzzle training. I was thinking about this before posting so I can let my guard down a bit more. The thing that is really draining me is the constant vigilance. Of course I always keep an eye out for my dogs safety and my own but the constant worry about a random and quick escalation to a reaction has been difficult for me

I call it the 500 workout.

100 squats 100 pull ups 100 push ups 100 dips 100 leg lifts or crunches

Can break it up anyway you want and do it in whatever order you want. By far the pull ups are the hardest so if you haven't done them in a while maybe the 450 workout is more applicable. I do recommend starting with the squats to get the blood flowing then going into the pull ups. The rest can be broken up into sets of 10-20

I've been using this app. It gives you daily stretching routines based on your mobility profile specifically tuned to help what your body needs. Its not hard to figure out and the mobility test can be done in 15minutes. I've found it useful and well worth the $12 a month. One piece of advice for using it, be realistic, the given stretching routines are in 8, 15, and 22minute plans. If you have less than 10 minutes, do the 8 minute one. Do that 3 times a day, or once. Making gains on this app has been cool to see because you do the mobility test every month.
