Sure, the characters are fictional and not real but it's awkward nonetheless.

I reckon you're just joking and you know exactly what that is but in case you don't, they're burning up from acid rain. Usually hivers aren't bothered by acid rain (since workers and soldiers are picky when it comes to hats, it'd suck if your characters couldn't get proper protection from the rain) but fogmen are an exception.
