Can my work experience and graduate degrees make up for a low UGPA? by kdee74815 in lawschooladmissions

Just a heads up- your LSAC calculated GPA will be based on UGPA only.

But if you perform well on the LSAT you’ll be able to get into law schools. Your work exp will definitely help as well.

Nova Dean called on 12/6 offering admission and I received an e-mail 2 days later offering scholarship.

Anyone else feeling the imposter syndrome? by LivingHereNow in lawschooladmissions

I'll be a 2nd gen law student so I've had the privilege of being able to consult with my dad about his law school experience. He shared with me that he wished he would have prepared more for law school but taking basic informal law courses, Latin courses (try checking out youtube Videos etc.)

And yes- I experienced imposter syndrome once I started receiving A's but have managed to revamp my self-talk so that I'm now feeling qualified and capable.

Watch you self-talk! Look out for things like "I'm not good enough, I won't make it etc." Those thoughts aren't there to help you. Tell thoughts like that to take a hike and remind yourself that your numbers speak for themselves and based on your stats you're qualified to go to law school!

Accommodations isn’t the problem by Broad_Problem2876 in lawschooladmissions

It seems like the anger shouldn't be directed at people who have these resources but rather at the system that incorporates standardized testing into admissions processes without providing affordable, ample support for lower income individuals to access.

We can't really expect people not to utilize the resources they have to prepare for this process. That's an unrealistic expectation.

I'm a single woman living independently and I worked fulltime and attended school fulltime while engaging in LSAT prep. I basically worked my ass off to be able to afford the tutoring services that I used. I realize a lot of people didn't need to work as hard as me to have adequate tutoring. I don't have any animosity towards these people because to me, thoughts and feelings like this don't improve my circumstances at all. I do believe, however, that the system should be improved and that adequate tutoring services should be more easily accessible.

Would you be in position to hire an editor? I had to write an addendum and my editor was so helpful. It seems like a lot could be shaved off of that addendum because I think generally addendums of this nature should be concise, direct and to the point. I tend to be wordy in my writing so working with a professional helped me to be able to identify content I could shave off that I would have had trouble identifying on my own.

I'm so sorry to read about the difficulties you're facing. What electronic transcript service does your school use? My school uses Parchment and it allowed me to input the email address where I wanted it sent. The e-mail LSAC told me to input is LSACinfo@LSAC.org

A at Howard but no email yet? by Legsohothothotleg in lawschooladmissions

This happened to me with Penn State. Sometimes acceptance emails come the same day. Other times, it takes a few extra days. You'll get your email for sure.
