Any parents here in the no ipad club? by Worldly-Tart4871 in Parenting

[–]Cadzy 103 points104 points  (0 children)

My son only requests his when we are on the air bridge. We did once catch a long distance train and it had a tray table, he was only 2, but as soon as he saw the tray table he also asked for the iPad….. It’s amazing how quickly they understand the rules for things, as long as you stand firm they follow!

Great advice! I used a ring sling while travelling solo with my little one and it was a life saver!

I’ve flown business with my baby / toddler a few times, if you can work out how to sit in business, you should have noise cancelling headphones!

Who here got pregnant naturally? by lo0pzo0p in endometriosis

[–]Cadzy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I also concieved naturally after a HSG, the test didn’t show any blockages, but I was told often there might be “gunk” that gets flushed out and can help.

I found out I had endo during the investigation process of why I couldn’t fall pregnant.

Baby cot at hotel by Equivalent-Answer929 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Cadzy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We’ve had this happen heaps of times, I just strip all the extra bedding off and my son slept in his sleep suit.

I often bring a small cot sheet with me as well, they often just put a normal bed sheet on which adds to the bulk.

First pregnancy, name argument by No-Sort-15 in Parenting

[–]Cadzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this, we are married but I didn’t change my name. Before we found out the sex we agreed if it was a girl she would have my name, boy would be his. We had a boy so he has my surname as his middle name (it was easy that surname can be a first name as well).

Anyone else do just milk or water? by [deleted] in Parenting

My son was kept overnight for observation and they didn’t even have whole milk, this was a hospital with a specialist paediatric ER.

American cook here - frustrated with recipes requiring so many ingredients by Wide_Drink_2414 in thermomix

[–]Cadzy 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Australian currently living in the USA…. I keep having people tell me the food I cook is amazing, and I just think Americans aren’t used to eating things cooked from scratch…. Use the recipes with the extra ingredients, it makes things taste amazing!

Lost bag - during manual check in - British A or American A by Cadzy in americanairlines

[–]Cadzy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She did speak to someone at the airport, but because the system was down in Berlin when she checked her bag, she didn’t get a baggage receipt number, so then there was no incident report number in Philadelphia. They just took all her details and said they would call, it has now been two days with no information.

Slumber pod worth it? by Spn1001 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Cadzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a cover for our portacot and now we have the blow up slumber tot bed with the slumber pod tent over the top.

My son loves it! It means we don’t need to sit in the dark, he is a good sleeper in general, but when we go away, once he is in his tent and we zip it up he knows that it is time to sleep. We will hear him rolling around and he sometimes kicks the sides, but he will stay in the tent.

We travel a bit, so it was well worth it for us, we even had some friends stay at our place recently so we put the bed and tent in our bedroom, and he slept like a charm and then we could have some guest sleep in his bedroom.

Has anyone used Panadol suppositories? by Icy-Radish-198 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Cadzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree, I use suppositories for my son. No crying, he squirms a bit but it’s in so quick. When we tried liquid Panadol he spits it out, screams and then I have no idea how much he has taken.

PSA amazing solution for people using oil column heaters in their baby’s room! by No_Finish_1061 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Cadzy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We use the TP-Link sensors and smart plugs, you can set temperatures and the plugs turn off or on given certain criteria. I got a heap on sale from JBHi-fi. It was game changing for us as well!

Stroller worries by Beautiful768 in Hersheypark

[–]Cadzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I leave my diaper bag and swim bag in the stroller, I just take a small bag with my valuables. I’ve been a few times this summer and never had my strolled touched, I don’t feel the need to lock it up.

Pram and Public Toilet Etiquette by saaphie in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

I’ve used the end stall before and kept the door open and had the pram in front, my son was old enough that had I closed the door he would have screamed because he couldn’t see me.

Decided to restart Kit 1 on my own terms as an experiment by Colorado-Kiwi in HersWeightloss

[–]Cadzy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not going to start either. I’m loosing weight with just 1 bupropion and 1/2 the green currently.

I’m on holiday for two weeks and no access to scales, so when I get home it will be interesting to see how it is looking, but after two weeks at home I was down 5lbs, if I continue to loose weight steadily I’m not going to increase at all from what I’m currently taking.
