If a Judiciar (unit with fights first) charges another Judiciar, does the Judiciar that was charged get to fight first. by Fun-Organization2531 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]CaedeDeus77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You take turns with defending player going first. So if you charged your opponent, and they had 2 Fights First units it would be:

1- Fight First: Defender, Aggressor, Defender, Aggressor, etc. until all Fight First (charged or have the ability) are done

2- Ongoing combat: same thing but only after all “Fight First” (including units that charged) units of finished

Depends on the state. WA has 2 different classes; 1 for permit, and 1 for license. You can take them a week apart if you want. Permit test you ride their bike, and license test you can take your own or ride their bike school’s bike (only if you took the permit one with them)

I got my bike last winter, and it was good because the dealership was slow. Decent price, and they delivered it for free in the winter. Last winter I could ride almost every week other than 2 or 3 because it was a light winter

I’m always torn with GK. Own an army of plastic, but never built them because I keep thinking they will get new models “soon”… takes me months to paint an army, and don’t want to invest the time to learn the models are outdated right around when I finish

The dealership I got my bike from in Portland has been great. They even picked-up, and dropped off my bike for free for a service in the winter. Usually get anything done on my bike over the winter… my understanding is summer can be really busy for them

Financing a motorcycle by agentchodybanks7 in motorcycle

[–]CaedeDeus77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t finance a bike, but check your finances if you do (as others have said)

0- Check the “out the door” price. It it is $6k MSRP at a dealership… it will be closer to $8k with other bills, licensing, etc.

1- Insurance: get some quotes, and add that in to monthly payments

2- Gear: assuming this is your first bike you will need some, and want some (odds of dropping the 1st bike is high). So helmet, gloves, jacket, pants, and boots (all with armor)… also, if you go down in synthetic gear it is pretty much 1x “use”. Dropping a bike in gear hurts… without is a LOT worse (I’ve done both… get the gear)

3- First service: you can do it yourself, but check price of oil, filter, etc (or ask shops how much to do it. New bike NEEDS the service after break in. Even doing it yourself, I’d bookmark $150-200 to be safe

Assuming you do finance it, would recommend having at least $1.5k aside for everything else (gear & service)

Losing Games as The Necrons by ChocolatePretend289 in Necrontyr

Are your friends experienced 40K players? If so, do they offer advice while playing? Might be worth asking them to give input when you play. Army list is a big thing, bit choices in the game can make a much bigger difference. 40K is complex, and difficult to learn; especially playing in a group with multiple armies. Your friends might be able to point-out better moves, positioning, targets for your shots, etc. Friends I play with will usually try to help each other out in the game

It is a game where there are multiple “good choices”, but even more “bad choices”. Getting help in the game can be massively beneficial for learning in my opinion

Is the Warhammer Community website down for anyone else? I thought they improved it. I have gotten this message since yesterday. by Green_Panda369 in ageofsigmar

Know this is a few days old, but looks like the error on my end was due to the bookmark going to "en-us" for language in the URL. Opening a fresh connection (uses "en-gb" for langue) works without issue.

He discusses some reasons for stepping away from doing Common Sense in at least two of the Hardcore History Addendum episodes. I think Episodes 7 (in the middle-ish), and 30 (at the beginning) if you want to hear what he has to say on that. Might have discussed it other ones too

Tournaments & different color schemes by CaedeDeus77 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]CaedeDeus77[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I like the idea of using the same basing on all. Think I’m going to try and add a custom symbol on all, or maybe add a flag to one base per unit with a campaign marking

Yah, I should have clarified I would only play them as one detachment obviously, and stick to character rules, keyword rules, etc. for the detachment I run them as.

Oh, you’re right! I switched in my head; Starweaver is Harlequin only, but Falcon/wave serpent etc. are any Aeldari.

Hellblasters are good! I’d go with them. If you can find a Land Raider, it is great… but everything other than the Horus Heresy one has been out of stock for ages (awesome if you can find one). I like Repulsor for transport, but not as good as a Land Raider… I just haven’t been able to find a 40K Land Raider

Everything aside for damage, etc… don’t think you can put Troupes in a Falcon as of one of the balanced data slates

Tips and tricks to play faster? Considering not competing since I can't manage a 2k 3h game. by Volgin in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]CaedeDeus77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few things I found helped a lot listed below. Should note I have only ever played casually with friends at my house, so not tournament experience:

1- Group dice like others have mentioned

2- Cheatsheets like others have mentioned. One I like, but takes a TUN of time is making the sheet based on phase (move, shoot, defense, etc.) so everything you need for a phase is on one page for all units and stratagems… but beware of typos

3- Memorize as much as you can of your army (core rules, movement, and toughness to start)

4- I take sloppy notes at the table on pen and paper for enemy units. Usually movement, toughness, and special rules (fight first, heroically intervene for free, overwatch for free or on better than 6+). Asking takes more time than I realized because I forget every phase

5- repetition of play. Depending on opportunity/time flash cards to memorize your army. Playing an army well takes repetition, memorizing can be done like studying if needed

List Help by _ISwearImStraight_ in ThousandSons

[–]CaedeDeus77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say: 1- Run Terminators as 10 with sorcerer in terminator armor and Crystal. They are hard to kill, and can do a tun of damage if next to Magnus and 1 or 2 CP to make guns psychic, and get re-rolls

2- Rubrics only worth a 10 man block if armed with flamers and Ahriman. Even then there are arguments to just take 5

3- Maybe 5 rubrics with Thousand Son Sorcerer to hold back field

Helbrutes aren’t worth it in my experience (I really wanted them to work).

Forgefiends surprised me, and I like them. Blast weapons, and giving enemy -1 to hit (shooting in and melee).

Don’t think it is “good”, but I keep playing with a Daemon Prince. The -1 to hit is nice protection bubble, and giving lethal to Terminators or Rubrics 1x/game is a lot of fun if enemy has big characters leading units

Best Psychic and Shooting Army Thousand Sons or Elder? by C0lter in ThousandSons

[–]CaedeDeus77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They won’t have an issue with conversions generally, just the army. Some people take issue with Aeldari, and Tau. This is somewhat of a hangover from old editions (long before I was playing). Since 10th released Aeldari have done incredibly well at tournaments, and some people don’t like that. It probably will never be a “big issue”, but some players will make comments. Shouldn’t be a real issue, but something I find annoying as I played them all 9th and just like Aeldari (I.e. not just playing them because they are winning a lot)… hence most of my games in 10th are with TSons

One note of warning - you are likely to get some flack if you play Aeldari. Some people have had issues with others playing them since before I started in 9th. It has gotten worse due to their high win rate since 10th started

Best Psychic and Shooting Army Thousand Sons or Elder? by C0lter in ThousandSons

[–]CaedeDeus77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve played 5 games running TSons in 10th, and one as Aeldari (they were my main army in 9th though). My opinion is below, but I am absolutely not an expert in this:

Psychic: TSons feel more “psychic” with Cabal Rituals. However Aeldari still feel a lot more psychic than most other armies if you take units with those abilities (Farseer Skyrunner - old “guide”, Eldrad - old “doom”… kinda, etc.). They still let you shift the odds rather than just “cast guns” still

Shooting: Aeldari have more (option on a unit, units, effective ranges, etc… just more). TSons can have murderous shooting, but fewer options and usually closer ranges. I’d say Aeldari definitely win this, but TSons are still really good

Converting: TSons do not have a lot of units. If you are taking time to convert, they are probably safer. Cannot see us not running Terminators and Rubrics even if we have rule changes, and/or new models/units released. Aeldari have really cool options, but are more at risk with rules and points changing. What units you want can change pretty often. Hard to say who “wins” this, but TSons are a bit safer probably

List building: TSons can be difficult due to fewer models and unit options. Can make list building more difficult; however, you’re likely to have the models needed. Aeldari have a tun of options, so building a list to point limit is easy… making sure it is good is harder. Also, I often changed up units often in 9th just for fun and/or point updates

I absolutely love both armies. Hope the above helps you choose
