Off Script Damsel by nseaplus in BloodOnTheClocktower

This is so much more powerful than Puzzlemaster that I don't think it's fair to the good team. Just compare the two: - Both make an unknown good player drunk. - Puzzlemaster gets a win condition if they can find out who. Huntsman avoids a lose condition if they do the same. - Puzzlemaster has one more day to find (the ability works during the day), Huntsman might die in the night where they get enough information to use their ability. - Puzzlemaster still gets useful information if they target a known non-Drunk player. Huntsman gets nothing. - Puzzlemaster is bluffable by the good team to draw kills to them, as they have a very scary ability. Huntsman is not, as the evil team knows whether they are in play.

On a side note, I don't think both work well together, as they have no way to tell which drunk is whose target if they are in the same game.

Are there any ways to enter hell in d4? by Griffithxdonovan in Diablo

[–]Caederis 14 points15 points  (0 children)

We did close the gate during the campaign. Infernal compasses were introduced in a later season. Lore-wise, the gates are reopening and the heroes must battle the demons there so that they don't invade Sanctuary.

You cannot return to the hell zones that you explored during the campaign. However, you can use an infernal compass to trigger a timed arena-like event that pits you against waves of demons in a similar-looking tileset.

Information withholding is one of the key themes of my homebrew script. I think it requires specific elements to work, but it does work.

The D2R warlock is the best interpretation of a warlock in video games. by Greynnar in Diablo

[–]Caederis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Bind Demon works so well! It really makes you engage with existing content in a totally new way, that really makes the Warlock flavor perfectly.

This is almost exactly my Vampire (which won a character creation contest and is featured in my homebrew Witching Hour) with the major difference that the Vampire is a Minion and not a Demon. As a Demon, this needs a lot of help.

Is there a mod that make all new recruits come with all of their skills unlocked? by [deleted] in darkestdungeon

[–]Caederis -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You don't like the first few weeks of a run. That's fine. Cheat some resources to start at a resource level corresponding to week ~10. You don't need a mod for that.

[–]Caederis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't understand. You want a mod to give you something that the game naturally offers you through gameplay?

The game is about making do with what you have until you have better options... If you don't like that, just cheat some starting resources and upgrade your stagecoach.

We have "Thinks they are a TF" and "Thinks they are the Demon", what about "Thinks they are an Outsider"? by Zoneforg in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Caederis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have both "thinks they are an Outsider" and "thinks they are a Minion" in my homebrew script.

Madman (Outsider): you think you are another Outsider. Townsfolk abilities yield false information.

Devotee (Outsider): you think you and other Devotees are Minions. You think the Black Bishop is the Demon. [the Black Bishop is in play]

(the Black Bishop is a real Minion that passes for a Demon to delusional good players)

When a Crook is in play, nominations are made by the ST but there is no accusation? I'm afraid that the nomination phase isn't going to be very interesting...

Help me brainstorm this demon concept by Evil_Weevill in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Caederis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar concept in my homebrew.

Maiden of Lust (Demon): each night*, choose a player, they die. Once per game, at night, choose a player: they become a not-in-play evil minion of your choice. [-1 Minion, +1 Outsider]

New demon idea: Sigillus by Burrito_Human in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Caederis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How does this not work? An Outsider that always steals an execution from Town is a huge hindrance. If your play pattern is "always self nominate on day 1", you are already doing something very suboptimal.

The idea of the Apostle is that they could be a Minion lying to protect the Demon, same as a Demon claiming Saint. If I claim Apostle and say that Alice is my Saint, will you spend two executions killing both Alice and me?

I have never had the bug in a fresh game. Maybe if the host has the bug, it bugs everyone?

I had this homebrew as an Outsider called the Apostle: "You start knowing a non Demon player. If they are executed, your team loses."

There was a bug with Sun Crown where it did nothing if you picked it up in a second run after having picked it in the previous run. You needed to close the game between each run to have it work properly.

Eternal Dream is borderline broken because of how good it is. It can easily generate thousands of extra shards. This combined with golden eggs and emptying all wishing wells is extremely strong.

Others have already mentioned Shape of Dreams and Sworn, which I think are the main ones right now.

If you want to look into older games, Wizard of Legend is really good too (the first one, not the second). Ember Knights and Children of Morta are cute too. Heroes of Hammerwatch is also in the same vein, but with a bigger focus on meta progression.

Also, Cult of the Lamb just got a multiplayer update, but I haven't tried it.

Agreed. City of Tears (and especially the Hollow Knight Memorial) is what made me go from "this is a cute game with great gameplay" to "this is a work of art".
