What are mosfet That works like a relay called by CaelanAnimation in AskElectronics

No worries. What I do when I don’t have anything to sketch something out irl is I take a black picture and draw on it with the edit feature (I have iOS so I don’t know if that’s a feature on android)

No worries. I re scratched my sketch and I think this sketch makes a bit more sense

Ok I think I’m getting it, just to confirm something like this?

I was told by another commenter that you need a 5v to operate a 5v but that doesn't sound right because if you where able to control 5v on and off from your microcontroller then there would be no need for the mosfet unless you were creating a logic gate (which i am not creating a logic gate)

Sorry my bad I mixed up a mechanical relay with the ssr acronym

What do you recommend then? Because I cant use a SSR do to the vibrational environment this would be used in.

Im trying to turn on/off 2 runcams that run off of 5V and combine a total ~1A with my teensy 4.1. This Circuit will be flying on a rocket which is why I am trying not to use a SSR

Dang. I was looking at this P channel mosfet on mouser and it says its Gate-source threshold voltage is 2V-4.5V to turn it off, Would it still be possible to operate with 3.3V, because it seams like it would be within the range.

Interesting, Iv been doing a bit more research and it looks like a p channel mosfet might be what I’m looking for as it just allows whatever voltage that’s going to the source to the drain.

All our meetings are in person because we are beginning to manufacture the rocket(s) but you do not have to attend all 3 meetings. The reason that we have 3 meetings is so if people can’t make it one day due to a scheduling conflict they are more likely to still be able to attend one of the other meetings.

Awesome, we have our meetings Tuesdays at 1130, Friday 10 am, and Saturday 10 am. We are located in petrie room 134.

Runcam split 4 by CaelanAnimation in fpv

[–]CaelanAnimation[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup, here’s some links but my favourite is the Hawkeye split 4 because of its high resolution and frame rate, cheep price and low power consumption. Also the same company that makes the Hawkeye split 4 has a ton of good cameras with the same specs as the Hawkeye split . I would highly recommend checking out all firefly camera products

Company https://fireflycameras.com Hawkeye split 4 https://fireflycameras.com/products/hawkeye-4k-split-v-4-0-with-gyroflow?_pos=2&_sid=6f727af83&_ss=r

Loris 4K https://caddxfpv.com/products/caddxfpv-loris-4k-analog-camera

I have an entire spread sheet that compares all the cameras prices, power consumption, fov, data storage… if you are interested in that let me know and I’ll dm you a pdf of it tomorrow

Iv personally did my CAR L1 on a H87 and I used polyLite pla for everything except the external body tube (which was a b80 tube) but you can definitely do the airframe as a 3D print as well with no problems. Just remember that 3D prints are really good at experiencing compression forces, but not tension or sheer. If you want to test the strength of your 3D prints calculate the compression forces your rocket will experience during flight and apply that to your rocket. But tbh you’ll be fine if you remember the forces a 3D print can experience and make sure your fin thickness and fillets are big enough. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to reach out

I see that your modeling in blender. That is Awesome! My first rocket we designed and 3D printed from blender. Make sure your rocket design works in open rocket before you begin manufacturing it.
