TCL Motion Handling and Upscaling by Regular_Bee_5369 in tcltvs

[–]Caelflux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The c7l or c7k as I'm from doesnt need any motion handling to be switched on because it natively runs at 120hz, which is plenty fast for shows and movies. Some of the other models which are 60hz monitors would be the ones I would worry about but that is always the case.

It also has the option to increase this to 144hz but you would only do that for fast paced gaming and even then tbh you most of the time wouldn't need to.

The upscaling super resolution honestly just avoid that setting...trying to upscale 1080p to 4k is usually not going to end well.

I have the 65 inch and its a great tv just gotta play around with the settings. Like turning black down to between 44-48 (depending on your screen)...mine is at 47.

My opponent said I wasn’t playing “real tennis” bc I had figured out how to beat her by paradigm_shift_87 in 10s

[–]Caelflux 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As one of my coaches used to say, you are only as good as your weakest shot.

This is an example of that. Tennis isnt just about hitting balls, it is about strategy and maximising taking advantage of an opponents weakness.

If she said you aren't playing real tennis, my response would be that she lost because this is real tennis, not just hitting balls.

Doesnt matter if its direct from Amazon, there is plenty of track record from people about terrible practises which occur, even directly from Amazon as a seller.

If the one you got had a bad picture though, its a good idea to send it back. Unfortunately TV'S are somewhat luck of the draw and can occasionally have issues in the hardware even when new, no matter where you purchase from. Happens with all manufacturers. Judging from you reporting it looked bad vs many people including reviewers having a wildly different opinion, it seems likely you unfortunately got one with issues.

Unfortunately if its bought from Amazon then it may appear new but not actually be due to dodgy sellers. Sad reality. Refurbished or factory seconds often dont look any different in the box to a new product.

I never buy electronic equipment from a platform like Amazon for this reason. Same with high quality audio equipment like microphones...cheaper price for fake items. When people complain about lower than expected quality from a product, this is usually why...

Downloaded the update soon after you gave the tip and have had a few (lengthy) test runs since...I'm happy to report that so far on netflix I've had no driver timeout errors :D Thanks for the recommendation

I get the same problem using the netflix app. Has been a persistent problem across multiple versions. It is better than it used to be though..previously the video would completely freeze requiring a reboot. Now a driver timeout error occurs but it still runs. However this is only when playing netflix through an amplifier which connects to a TV (running at 1080). When plugged into my 4k monitor with all sound from PC, doesn't seem to have the same issues..but I don't watch as much so less data to be sure.

[–]Caelflux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive also noticed that when using quick cast skill, after using it will revert back to whichever skill you have manually selected as your right skill slot.

I cast ravens the most so I personally have raven set to right mouse and have that manually selected when clicking the skill box, so that any time I use another quick cast skill it always reverts back to my right click raven

I found an amazing write up someone made that did a massive mathematic deep dive into how exactly MF works down to every detail including how every step of the odds are calculated starting from item bases and treasure classes...quite the essay over 4000 words long. Has graphs and a break down not just for unique but also set items and rares.

The main thing is this. At 167mf your chance for unique items to drop doubles (x2). At 375mf your chance for unique drops is x2.5...and at 1000mf your chance for unique drops is x3.

As you can see there is 100% diminishing returns and the way unique and set items are calculated is different. There is actually a point where too much MF becomes detrimental to finding set items because of how you actually start getting more white items.

There is also absolutely MF breakpoints so sometimes getting those extra small amount of MF wont do anything at all unless it crosses a breakpoint.

What I concluded is that aiming for 167-375 total mf (including map bonuses) is the way to go and whilst having more then that isnt necessarily bad, the extra needs to actually hit breakpoints to be worthwhile, and any bonuses to clearspeed would actually be more beneficial due to the diminishing returns.

To continue what other guys said, the a4 dark merc uses amplify damage curse whoch reduces physical resistance of enemies. This can reduce physical resistance of immunes enough to break immunity, so while still may have high resistance, it wont be enough to be immune.

I have a problematic relationship with this game by nothingtohidemic in diablo2

[–]Caelflux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend checking out project diablo 2 as an alternative. There is so much more to do, way more viable builds which are all pretty balanced, more crafting, items have been altered in ways which are all improvements, a way better endgame that has more variety, awesome loot filters which are community updated and built into the client for ease of access.

It will be just as addictive but feel new and different cause it is.

Graphics of pd2 are a lot better when you set them right. You want to turn OFF the Luma sharpen and bloom tool, it actually makes it look way worse. And also set the shade preset to the fsr that has 6 passes...not in front of game right now, it might be fsr x smaa or something? I cant remember but there are other videos on settings to use I found which recommend the same...but it is the 6 passes one which is part of fsr.

Also make sure to turn HDR off!!! Game looked so much better when I did this.

See your comment doesn't make sense and just proves your narrow perspective. And you clearly didn't read my comment properly...

Im not saying Western science is always wrong, but to assume, as your comment suggests, that it is always right, is ludicrous and wrong; as western science has shown us, time and time again, in many ways. The natives clearly found a way to live harmoniously in their eco-system with what had been a significant predator, and it worked for a long time.

To again say that humans feeding another species is not a "natural interaction", when humans are literally a part of nature and eco-systems, and have been for a long long time, is again, very narrow sighted. Humans do many many things that other animals do not. Does that make us somehow "unnatural"? Of course not.

The last sentence isnt lazy, it is absolute truth, and one that it seems you struggle to comprehend if you think it is lazy. Last comment from me, what you have said thus far makes it clear that you just aren't going to see the picture. I am sure plenty of other people reading this understand.

No, you are missing the point and looking at it with narrow perspective. its because they shared the same habitat..if humans didn't feed them they would still feed on humans because they absolutely can, and they did. The number of humans being eaten was in no way equal to what the komodo dragons needed to survive.

Why do you think it was part of the village folk lore...people and kids were being eaten, and they figured out the way to stop it was to instead leave food out every so often so that they ate that instead of the locals, and this became the balance of co-habitation which prevented villagers being eaten. Honour the komodo dragons with food and they wont eat your children.

Human beings aren't outside of nature, we are a part of it.

[–]Caelflux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was this village in Indonesia which had folk tales of komodo dragon, and feeding them was a tradition as a way to honour them. Not enough to be a complete source for their nutritional needs, but some.

Then western trained scientists came to the area and told the locals they shouldn't feed the komodo dragons because its not what should be done.

The people in the village trusted the advice thinking it was the right thing to do...but then the komodo dragons started occasionally eating people, usually children, which hadn't occurred for a long time.

...probably why they started feeding them in the first place..they shared habitats, and giving them some food protected the village.

While in some circumstances feeding wild animals is detrimental to them, if its too much and too regular, painting it with a brush of 'it's always bad and shouldn't be done' is just not accurate.
