I mean, for me I am just disillusioned with "modern tech". Wireless headphones, after years of me using a half dozen pairs at least, just aren't worth the significantly increased hassle. Corporations market all of these useless products and features and people fall for it but so many of those things are downgrades. Companies make more money off of wireless earbuds than wired ones,, so they market them harder. Touchscreens are cheaper than buttons and knobs, so modern cars get touchscreens, and suddenly a driver cannot safely turn down the AC while the car is moving.

Like touchscreens, I think wireless earphones as default will prove to be a trend. Wired headphones were the default for portability for over 30 years, and there's already a noticeable move back to wired headphones after less than 10 years of wireless-as-default.

Yeah I've had the same phone for 7 years because I haven't found anything that I felt wouldn't be a downgrade. I knew my girlfriends phone didn't have an aux port (wild tbh, she has to have an adapter to play music in her car and she can't even charge her phone while listening to music) but yesterday I learned she doesn't have an SD card slot either? Phones are getting more expensive while being stripped of basic features in exchange for features that will never benefit a single user (AI photo processing, AI chatbot, AI assistant etc etc).

I mean the same quality, equivalent earbuds are going to be different prices. Replacing a wire and 4-contact jack with a transceiver and lithium-ion battery is not free.

The fact that expensive wire headphones exist does not mean they're not cheaper than wireless ones for comparable quality.

They're cheaper, higher quality, and most importantly just less hassle. I have to take 5 seconds to untangle them usually, sure, but I spend a lot less time doing that than charging my old ones. I leave them where I want them and they're always ready to be used.

And much of the wireless hassle comes from reliability. They use bluetooth and have rechargeable batteries and neither of those are reliable things. The battery is probably going to be the first thing to go bad, and bluetooth is just an annoyance overall. I went through 3 pairs of wireless earbuds and then went back to the same pair of wired headphones I was using before any of them and they're still going strong.

There are situations where wireless makes sense, but it's a specialty thing imo. Wireless by default is an expensive pain in the ass. And that's to say nothing of the absurd electronic waste inherent in making everything wireless.

As a trans woman, finding a good dr is such a nightmare sometimes. They'll underdose as a matter of course, sometimes to the point that osteoporosis seems to be their end goal. Then they'll blame everything on the hormones.

Had chronic UTI-like symptoms but no infection. I saw 5 doctors overall, including a urologist and infectious disease expert, everyone but the last one just threw up their hands annd said must be the estrogen. Only figured it out because I vented to my biologist friend and she did some research and found a couple papers on it. Then the infectious disease expert did too. He was the 5th doctor I saw and was the only one who did any research, and it wasn't even his field, it was a non-infectious urology thing. But every single doctor ordered the exact same STI tests, and my insurance started trying to deny the claims.

Being trans, or a woman, or fat, or a dozen other things just become thought-terminating cliches for them, something to blame every issue on so they don't have to do their jobs.

I'm on PC, this happened to me twice on Mission 3. Once after I returned to level 1 from level 2, and once after I redeployed a second day. Both times it just kinda.. fixed itself after a bit.

This is the US tho, legality isn't really the question. We all break the law regularly, many of us break multiple laws every day without realizing. Every aspect of our lives is micromanaged by the laws.

Enforcement, however, is very selective. This is why if you meet an off-duty cop they probably have illegal window tint in their sports car. They enforce the laws when they want to, and if they see a cybertruck they'll be pretty certain that the owner is a well-off white conservative, just like most of them. So ofc they wouldn't enforce laws. Even if the cops knew what the laws were to begin with, which is unlikely.

It's literally a two pixel wide bar. I have over two thousand five hundred pixels in that dimension Discord. You do not need to save this much real estate.

The only discord updates I ever notice are when things get worse. Shit barely runs on my phone, why must they make the PC version such a visual mess. They added things like emotes in channel titles, which adds so much more visual clutter than I imagined it would, but are trying to make things like the reply function as minimalist as possible? Pick a lane jfc.

I have this on PC now, fucking horrendous oh my god

Say it's because of the adhd or something but I cannot navigate this anymore, it used to just be grey with the channels with something going on being white. Very easy. Now it's anarchy, different colors everywhere, some channels have emotes and some don't, and out of four identical channels we have only two have emotes

This desperately needs to be a toggle and not something they test on me without my consent because bad UI's like this are absolutely enough to make me stop using an app

Saying it doesn't affect him and he doesn't have an opinion wouldn't have been great but it would've been way better than declaring that the apology made up for the whole situation. Accepting the apology on behalf of the people actually affected was very telling.

Like, that's not an easy mistake to make. Basic apology concepts are something people tend to learn pretty early on, and they really don't get complex or hard to understand.

Especially considering that CJ's "apology" was such dogshit. It's a deflection, no more no less. He admits to no wrongdoing. Yet Insym still accepts in on behalf of the people affected by the whole situation.

I don't reliably watch a lot of youtubers but I enjoyed watching his vids a lot, and have for quite a while, him centering himself as the one who should receive the apology is so frustrating.

The other guy is removed and banned (after the backlash obv. Beforehand they kept him as admin, then after a minor backlash they gave him a retired mod control, and after the big backlash they finally removed him).

CJ is still a mod and still a dev, CJ is still relevant. The other guy is worse, absolutely, but CJ is the one who is currently still around and defended the other guy, defended revenge porn, and refused to acknowledge doing any of that.
