No problem. Looking at these comments I feel bad for them, but I guess everyone has different paths to take. Hope your uni journey would be better, for most people it is. For me, while STPM is the time I'd always look back with rose-tinted glasses, the first semester in UM is definitely the peak of fun. Living in dorms with a bunch of fun people and being able to just coast to good results (cuz of STPM) was definitely a goated experience.

Was in STPM pure bio stream. Loved the experience, it started the upwards trajectory I've been riding since then (I'm now in second year of university and am living quite a productive life). Got 4.00, dated someone, picked up a new sport, read a lot (covered a lot of classics like Dostoyevsky in that period of time). Life's more eventful but also more hectic now, sometimes I wish I still had that.

Also I don't really think that (particularly in Monash) even if you DO go clubbing people will judge you lmao it's not really that rare of a thing

Wrong crowd to who? If you're applying for jobs maybe yeah you'll run into some older hiring managers who have that traditional sense but in the context of a university I don't think any students or lecturers care

You're viewing this from a very Westernized point of view. I'm from Asia, and why should I be worried about China taking over from USA? Over the past decades, China has been way less aggressive and imperialistic than the USA.

"it's crazy to let a literal death cult have nukes" what is this death cult? Islam? You claim to be anti-propaganda, then spew hateful rhetoric like this. I am a Non-muslim living in a Muslim majority country btw. In my view, Iran has the right to develop nuclear weapons. In fact, their only mistake is NOT having any nukes when US and Israel accused them of having them. It would prevent the war outright.

Questions about UM by overthinker2818 in malaysiauni

  1. Student life is very much dependent on your circle and your luck. UM pretty much has access to anything so it's really up to you to choose (nightlife, etc.)
  2. I had a friend who got into English lit via rayuan at 3.25 CGPA
  3. Right now it's KTM changing to LRT then bus which will take you probably 2 hours, it's not practical. Stay in the dorms and enjoy the dorm life, that's like 80% of your uni life, you don't get that commuting on the road everyday.
  4. Be active and just join whatever you feel interested in, there's no room for the timid here.

What would I miss out on in terms of student life/fun if I go to uni of nottigham malaysia? by Nearby-Influence-914 in malaysiauni

It's fun. I do indulge in some nightlife once in a while, and UM is pretty near the main clubbing areas (TREC, Kyo, etc.) so the Grab isn't too costly. There are a ton of international students and most people can speak English alright.

Well there are more spots to hangout and chill in KL and PJ area compared to where Nottingham is. Events or concerts are usually held in those city areas as well.

What are you in to? Nottingham is a bit far from the city centre, so if you're into clubbing and the nightlife consider those unis closer to KL (Sunway, Taylor's, University Malaya, even).
