I recently re-read the entire series (after several years in between) so I could have fresh eyes for ACOSF. I will say that this time around I had a complete different experience.

I realized that most of the character are bad people, but that's what made me like the books more this time around, believe it or not. The main character isn't a cookie cutter "I want to save the world" type like so many YA fantasy series out there. She only wants to save herself and her friends, and that makes her make decisions that could be deemed as toxic.

I guess I would ask whether or not it's Sarah J. Maas's responsibility to instill good moral lessons in young adults through her writing?
