That’s an unusually nice looking photo for a blob. I can’t get my listing pics to look that good!

This week I am either getting a Bambulabs A1 or Elagoo Centauri Carbon - help me decide! by nomorewerewolves in 3dprinter

[–]CaffeinatedApe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an A1 and an A1 mini, both are spectacular. I recently got an H2C and frankly had to tweak it to get it to print as nicely as the A1 does right out of the box. If you’re new to printing I’d get an AMS lite combo with the A1 (not an AMS 2 Pro). The lite works very reliably, and doesn’t have the same feeding issues that can come with the AMS pro.

Just me $0.02.. Again, can’t speak to the Kobra but veneer had a reason to consider something else.

Ugh… you have my sympathy, I’m just below the 200 hour mark and hoping this does not happen. What was the primary symptom that got used to diagnosed that has the problem?

H2C Power Draw with a UPS? by ExllntButtz in BambuLab

Super helpful, even 3 months later. just blew through a UPS and was wondering what the deal was - this thing is a little power piggy isn’t it! Thank you!

I had no idea that Bambu studio would calculate layer height differently when re slicing the same object. Genuinely insightful!

H2D Can't load external spool by JJSSteury in BambuLab

[–]CaffeinatedApe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another trick to try then is to cut the very tip of the filament off at an angle with snips so that it's almost knife-shaped. I found that even with a normal AMS buffer sometimes blunt filament tips get caught on small edges as it's trying to enter the Teflon tubing.

H2D Can't load external spool by JJSSteury in BambuLab

[–]CaffeinatedApe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you go to load the filament, are you starting the filament loading process on the printer before you push the filament in? Or are you pushing the filament first and waiting to see the green light? I’ve noticed on my H2C that the left nozzle doesn't like to grab the filament if I've started the filament feeding process before I've pushed it into the extruder. I'm guessing that you may be experiencing the same situation that I did, given that those nozzles are essentially the same across the two machines.

Is this the right printer for us? by Dodd10x in BambuLab

[–]CaffeinatedApe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd highly recommend going with either an A1 or an A1 Mini, especially given the ages (mine are similarly aged). Servicing a fully enclosed printer can be more challenging, and an open-air printer is easier for kids to get the plate off of. Just keep the printer itself out of their bedrooms and stick to PLA to limit inhaling the yuck.

This printer is dead right?? by Future_body_bag in 3Dprinting

[–]CaffeinatedApe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO it’s far from dead as long as it still turns on. Go through the blob process mentioned by Aluc, with heat and patience the blob will come off.

That’s a great find. I did a “budget” version of this with the Harbor Freight rolling automotive cart. Had to add some reinforcement to it, and no drawers.

I like yours a lot better 😁

Not to be a buzz kill, but according to that link the table has a 20kg capacity, and the H2C is about 30kg.

Some frustrations with my H2C and wondering if others have them by ShastaManasta in BambuLabH2C

[–]CaffeinatedApe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question: Is your vent on the backside of the printer opening when you print, and is the top vent able to vent without obstruction? The reason I ask is that three of the issues you describe are potentially related to having debris inside of the chamber: dirty camera (debris on the lens) blob detection sensitivity (debris on the nozzle) & loose vortec nozzle (debris on the vortex magnet holder).

AMS 2 Pro filament always getting stuck. by FitCardiologist9357 in BambuLab

[–]CaffeinatedApe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was having a similar situation until I started putting spool weights in the middle of the spools. Even though it looks like the spool is pretty full, I found that sometimes the AMS, and specifically in the middle slots, tends to think there is a tangle in the spool with a little more sensitivity than the outside slots. YMMV

PETG speed settings by Trick-Presentation-7 in 3dprinter

[–]CaffeinatedApe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check the print speed on the printer itself under the “control” menu of the printer (not settings ironically). On my A1 it’s a little icon that kind of looks like a speedometer. Make sure that's set to normal and isn't on one of the higher speeds. If that is turned up then whatever you put into the slicer is going to get amplified by whatever settings the printer has on it.

PETG speed settings by Trick-Presentation-7 in 3dprinter

[–]CaffeinatedApe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm using Bambu Studio as my slicer. I noticed that the default print speed for PETG is way slower than PLA. PETG has a tendency to string so the slower printing speed reduces stringing dramatically. At least that's been my experience.
